Day 85 - Flight of Passage

Usual morning for me although run was sluggish and again I'm not enjoying JW.  Got Leo to school on time, had a chat with Mum and Dad on the way home and got a few chores done.  Standard school morning now.  Checked in with some friends, checked the news (always wish I hadn't bothered) did some blogging.

We have 5 butterflies now! All hatched, feeding and fully formed.  Weather is pants at the moment so we'll keep them in the net until it's a bit better and then they'll be free! FREEDOM!!!!!

Fun packed Florida day started slowly with the boys in the pool and the men having lie ins.

Leo needed to catch up with some rest as it was all getting a bit too much for him.

The boys wanted to go to the resort to play in the arcade and the lazy river so I took them over and left everyone else with some quiet.

Plan for the day was to do the different countries around Epcot and a few rides that we had a missed.  I had managed to get a FastPass for the Frozen ride, which is as hard to get as a Sainsbury's delivery slot right now!

Absolutely loved the Frozen ride.  Because it is new the technology had moved on so the characters and effects were amazing, plus the added bonus of a boat ride with a drop. 😁

Apologise for the singing but it was such a lovely ride!

Rain, rain, rain and more rain.  It doesn't just rain a bit so you can use a brolley, it tips down like monsoon rain.  We hid in the shop for a while but we got restless so tried to move on between countries but I don't think we truly got to appreciate it all as it was so rushed and we didn't hang around much to try out the different food and drinks etc.

Also on the agenda was meeting lots of characters.  Mum and Dad spent more time doing the different countries while we went and met up with Baymax.  It was awesome.😍

I really don't like people in costumes, even a victorian dress and will go out of my way to avoid them so being in Disney can freak me out sometimes. But, meeting Mickey, Goofy and Minnie was an amazing experience and we all loved it! Unfortunately Mum and Dad missed it as they were still exploring and they didn't think it would have been their thing.  We had a long wait before we could go in, but it was worth it.

Minnie smothered the boys with kisses and hugs and although they were embarrassed, they loved it 😍

Inside Out characters.

You go first 😃

She was telling him that his t-shirt was the same colour as her.

I wonder if they smile in their costumes for pictures 😀

We queued up to do Soarin again as we loved it and we had some time to kill as we were staying late to watch the fireworks.

We found a good spot to watch the fireworks.  The video is long.

So it's about 9:30pm as we are leaving Epcot and I had been checking the queue times for Pandora Flight of Passage ride which were around 1 hour wait, which is small!  I managed to convince everyone that it would be a great idea to head over to Animal Kingdom to see Pandora in the dark and to finally get on this ride as our Disney tickets were going to run out at midnight and this would be our last chance, maybe forever!

Pictures will obviously not do it justice but it was amazing! Being in a park at night has such a different feel to the day and is obviously a lot quieter, that was until we got to the ride and realised that the wait was now 3 hours long!!!!  We joined it as we hoped it was wrong.  It wasn't.  We passed the time playing the Ellen game Heads Up and looking around at the scenery.

If you like rides, this is one that you have to put on your bucket list.  It was magical, amazing, goosebumps, emotional and incredible.   Not everyone will feel the same obviously (Rob didn't) as we are all different but I could have done it over and over again.  The best bit for me is when your dragon stops and you can feel him breathing heavily under you before he takes off again.  Wicked!

We had a slight problem though.  After waiting 3 hours we were in the room that starts the build up when little Oscar decides he is desperate for a poo!  I just thought it was nerves about the ride and that he could hold it and would be fine once he was sitting down.  But no, the poor kid was screaming that he was about to poo himself and so Rob took him out. Luckily he was given 3 FastPasses (this explains the huge wait for Aerosmith) so that he could get back in if he wanted.  We did the ride, loved it and caught up with Rob and Oscar who were waiting outside as Oscar didn't want to come back in.  Poor baby was done in and a bit traumatised by his experience. 😞. Huge Mum guilt, even now!

It was decided that Rob would take Leo and Ellis back on the ride and we would get Oscar to the car.

We had a long wait in the car and we tried to make Oscar comfortable but he kept waking up saying he was going to be sick.  He wasn't, but he was very upset.😥. We eventually got back to the villa just before 2am 😳😵😴

Back to the present day and it has been a bit calmer and easier.  Rob is home so lots of tea being made (banana loaf gone) and Ellis is slowly getting his head around what needs done with his school work.  It is far worse than we first thought.  😞 Oscar nailed his work early as usual and then relaxed in the afternoon, waiting for Leo to get home so they can game together.  It's nice having happier Ellis back though. 😊

It's good that I have Florida to blog about as nothing really of interest is happing here.😏

I made Rob this for dinner which he enjoyed and after clearing up I did some more chores before the usual getting the boys to bed stuff.

Early to bed for me and hoping to get up earlier and do a slightly longer run to make up for all the crap I've eaten today.  Goodnight folks. x
