Spitting Dinosaurs!

Wednesday was pretty standard really.  The boys both went to school and I did work around the house.  Someone picked up the see saw I sold and I grabbed a new window cleaner who charges £7 to do the whole house! Bargain.  When I say grab, I don't mean I physically got hold of the bloke, I just mean I saw him doing another house on the street and I stopped to ask him if he could do ours too.

I took everyone shopping in the afternoon.  Never an easy task and I had lots to do, so I was dragging tired hungry kids around several shops.

I fed the boys at McDonanlds then went into Asda for a few more things.  Ellis decided he needed the toilet at the till.  Now normally Ellis can hold on and hold on and hold on but because of the milkshake he had for dinner, he couldn't hold it on this occasion and I was stuck at the till trying to fill bags, stop Leo running off, trying to calm Ellis down and paying the lady.  The poor kid was in distress and I went as fast as I could.  We got to the toilet only to find that it had moved to upstairs! With the trolley and Leo it was slow progress and poor Ellis just couldn't walk anymore so we stopped at the disabled toilet but it was being used! He was crying and getting very worried about peeing in his pants but finally the person came out and I quickly helped him to get sorted.  I felt so sorry for him but thankfully it all ended well.

We got home and we did the bath and bed routine but everyone was fussing.  Leo and Ellis took an hour to settle and Oscar even longer as he kept pooing!

The following day Ellis had a dress down day and cake sell and Rob took him to school.

At home I just blurted out about going to the zoo to Leo.  I made myself do it so I could trap myself into going.  I didn't want a lazy day and I knew I should be doing something with the boys.  Of course Leo said he wanted to go, so that was that and I quickly rushed around getting everything ready and put him in his new outfit that Auntie Lucy bought for his birthday.

Oscar had a very short snooze on the way there and we managed to park in the main car park and we were inside by 10:30am.

To say I had a fantastic time is an understatement.  We had tons of fun, saw and did so much and the boys were so good.

We went anticlockwise around the park seeing the butterflies first, which Leo didn't like, and he also didn't like the dinosaur models much either.  The new meerkat enclosure, otters, gibbons, gorillas, penguins and seals were next followed by our lunch as Leo said he was hungry.

The birds bugged us a lot while we were eating and Leo was a bit upset by it all but we got through it and they both ate really well.

After lunch I sneakily got Leo over to see the T-Rex.

We watched a bit of the show on the grass and Leo sat quite nicely at the front for a short while but soon got bored so we wandered off to see the fish, bugs, reptiles, lions and animals in the dark.  Literally seconds after entering the dark enclosure, Oscar zonked out.   So cute.

Didn't like them.

My favourite.

After going through the bats, Leo spotted the big slide and I said he could have a go.  Oscar stayed asleep.

We then saw a dinosaur spitting out water and I thought it was the one that Ellis had been talking about since his recent school trip.

It wasn't until I saw this one on the way out that I thought I might of had it wrong.  He later told me that I was wrong and that the one below is where he stood with his friends getting sprayed.

As we were leaving Leo tripped over and scraped all down his arm.  It was quite nasty but he was really brave.  We bought a 3D fridge magnet in the shop to cheer him up.  His choice.

At the exit Leo decided he wanted an ice-cream and I said no, so obviously he cried all the way back to the car, refused to walk so I had to carry him and push the buggy, in the rain.  In the car it took a minute before he was trying to go to sleep.  Stopped at some traffic lights I watched him drifting off with his thumb falling out, then going back in several times.  It was really funny but I couldn't video it which would have been better than these pictures.

We all went to the cake sell before picking Ellis up and going home for dinner.  Busy fun day and it wasn't over.  Ellis had football from 5-6pm and then we came home for bath and bed.  Rob thankfully finished off the bath so that I could get some dinner on for us.  We then tidied up together too so that was a big help.

In the evening Rob found some white things on the back of his throat and he soon found out what they were by looking on the internet. He diagnosed himself with tonsillolith which you can read about here if you would like. We then spent the entire evening trying to get them out with cotton buds.  It was great fun as I got to do it and every time I did, he would gag and make a noise and I couldn't stop laughing, every single time, and we were at it for over an hour.

It was gone midnight before I manged to get to bed.  To be honest that seems to be my new bed time as I just wouldn't get anything done if I went to bed any earlier.  I just hope I can keep going during the day.  May need to have an early night every now and then.

Memories

I recently bought a new trike for Oscar.  It was an impulse buy at Costco, as so many purchases from there usually are.  I really like it though and we used it when we took Ellis to school.

I went in to see the teacher, Mrs Warren, again today as I was a bit worried about some of the things Ellis has been writing about.  It's crazy that he can even write so well but I love it as I can find out what's really going on in his head.  He was basically writing stories about not being played with and having to find new friends.  Once again I was reassured that he was fine and I know I'm just being neurotic but I wanted to check anyway.  I'm pretty sure it will all be so different when Leo goes.  I suspect they will be calling me in!

Mum came over as usual and I went to Sing and Sign which is always lovely.  Back home Mum did all my ironing even though Leo didn't nap.  Super woman!

Mum and I did the crossword, which I love doing.  It reminds me of my Grandad every time.  I really miss my Nan and Grandad and I cry about them often, even though they have been gone for a long time.  I'm pretty sure that won't change until I'm gone too.  Bit morbid for my blog but there.

Love you and miss you everyday xxx

We used the new trike again to go to Jolly Babies and Oscar loved it.  The sun shade blows up every now and then but I'm sure we just need to tighten a screw and it won't do it.  Wonder how long it will be before I actually get around to doing that!?

Gemma came over in the afternoon and witnessed our Wills so that I could finally get them sent off.  It's taken us ages and I feel really bad for Adam who helped us out with it.  Life just gets in the way of sorting out the death part.

I picked Ellis up and again spoke with Mrs Warren who has just been brilliant.  She probably thinks I'm a bit of a fruit loop and after meeting Leo I'm sure she will be convinced!

At Ellis' dancing lesson we were all called in to be told that some people still weren't paying properly and that Aimee would soon be out of business if it carried on this way.  That would be a shame if a few ruin it for everyone else.  Hopefully it won't come to that.

Back at home, Oscar pooed in the bath! Yuck!  There was loads of it and I didn't notice straight away as I was faffing getting pyjamas ready and stuff.  It wasn't until Leo said, "poo Mummy!" and I checked to see what he was chatting about and he was right, there was in fact a baby sized log floating around in the bubbles.  I swiftly pulled them all out, showered them off and cleared the bath out.  Great timing Oscar!  He thought the whole thing was hilarious obviously.

Staying with a slight theme of death in this entry, I started to read James and the Giant Peach to Ellis and it starts off by saying his parents are dead.  That didn't go down too well with Ellis and after reading a bit more I decided he was too young for it, so it's gone back on the shelf for a couple of years.  Any recommendations of some good books to read for bedtime would be appreciated.

Oscar played up at bed time for some reason so I didn't get him to bed until gone 9pm. After clearing up I wasn't left with much time for myself, or energy for that matter.

The next day I was tired, as Leo had been up coughing too and I was feeling totally lazy.  I didn't take Leo to his gym class as he was flopping about the place too saying he was sad.  He might not have been feeling very well.

He napped and I pottered doing usual chores and getting ready for going to Mum's house.

Leo and I did play and have fun too though and I managed to get some pictures, sort of, for his 3rd birthday pictures.

3 year old Leo

3 year old Ellis.

I took some of Oscar too and it struck me that when Ellis turned 3, I was already pregnant again with Oscar!  How crazy is that.  It's only just hitting me recently how close together our babies are.  We must have been mad not spacing it out a bit more.  Saying that though, we wouldn't have them if we had done.  I know that doesn't make sense but I'm sure most of you will know what I mean.

Some extra pictures of Leo.

After picking Ellis up we went straight to Mum and Dad's where Cousin Chloe and Kamron were too.  They all played with Grandad who was trying to capture them.  It was great fun and it took me back to when I used to play the same game with Dad.

Kate had some scan pictures of her baba which I had a look at and then set about eating my ham egg chips and salad, made for me by Mum and it was delicious!  Oscar did steal half my chips though.

We played Battleships on the iPad before it was time to go and we got back home quite late, about 8 ish and the boys took a while to settle, probably from all the excitement.  I spent the evening blogging which is always nice.
