Potty Training Squits!

I knew something was up when I had to wake Ellis at 8am. I went in to get him and he was curled up in a ball, sweating, hot and shaking at the same time. He had a temperature so I gave him some medicine and set him up on the sofa with his rabbit, pillow, blanket and drink.

The medicine kicked in and he chirped up enough to do another poo on the toilet! Yay! Then as a reward he got to watch Peppa Pig on T.V. This proved to be quite a good reward.

I felt he was up to going to a music class that had been pre-arranged so I packed the kiddies into the car and went.

It was really good fun and although Ellis wasn't himself, I think he still enjoyed it. I can't wait for the groups to start again. It will be harder work getting them out the house and stuff but more rewarding for Ellis.

Ellis didn't fancy any lunch but I did a plate full of snack type things for him to pick at and put it by the sofa. He didn't touch it.

I gave him some more medicine and put him down for his nap but I went up to check on him an hour later and he was laid there awake. I don't think he had slept at all.

I decided against going to Mummy afternoon as I didn't want to pass anything on to the gang and I didn't feel up to looking after him, whilst potty training in someone's house. It just seemed safer and easier to stay home.

Ellis did yet another poo on the toilet and was rewarded with more Peppa Pig. I actually quite like it myself but cannot get the bloody theme tune out of my head!

Ellis didn't want any dinner either so I just put a bowl of plain pasta by him while he played with the play dough. I watched him for a bit and was on the phone when I realised that his head was nodding and he was slowly falling asleep at the kitchen table. It was 5:20pm and I put him to bed.

Even though Ellis wasn't well, he didn't have an accident all day.

I spent some time with Leo which was great and then gave him a top to toe wash and put him to bed at 7pm.

Leo went down really well and I didn't think I would be hearing from him until a lot later on. Boy was I wrong! He woke at 7:40pm and I didn't get him to settle back down until 9:35pm. I was seriously unhappy as my darling hubby had ordered a Chinese for me and it arrived and got cold.

As if butter wouldn't melt!

I heated up my dinner but it wasn't as good as it would have been fresh.

I was drained from looking after a sick Ellis and then tending to Leo all night so I went to bed straight after I had eaten. I never like doing that as I like my food to settle first but I just couldn't keep my eyes open.

Ellis woke at 1:35am crying. I went in to see him and he seemed fine. Still hot but okay. I changed his pull-up which wasn't that wet, tucked him in and stood watching him for a bit before slowly walking out. As I shut the door I expected a scream but he was quiet.

Leo woke me at 6:35am for a feed and then I dozed on and off until Ellis was crying again at 7:30am.

He managed to eat some breakfast and drank loads of water. That made me worried as obviously it all had to come back out!

He didn't have a temperature but was complaining about needing a poo. I was feeding Leo when a small amount came out on the carpet. He immediately started crying but I calmed him down and sat him on his Thomas seat on the toilet. He was still crying and as I was hugging him, he did a huge splatter! The poor kid had diarrhea! Now I was really, really worried as how could I potty train a kid with squits!? I was determined though and switched to pull-ups and not nappies for the day.

I made Ellis laugh over the sound of his squits and that seemed to break the ice with the whole pooing thing. Obviously he had to go a lot during the day and with Peppa Pig as a reward, he spent most of the day going back and forth from the sofa to the toilet. I didn't mind as I think it really built up his confidence to use the toilet. It was actually a blessing in disguise.

He wore pull-ups all day and didn't have one accident, which considering the circumstances, that is amazing! I also showed him how to push the pants down so he could go to the potty himself without me helping him and he did this 3 times during the day.

Leo was 3 months old yesterday so I took some monthly pictures. I took a lot, and I mean a lot so here is just a few of my favourites.

Here are 3 pictures of Ellis at the same age.

To mark Leo's 3 month birthday, he decided to do a trick. I think it is a bit fluky as he hasn't done it since but I was one proud Mother none the less.

Here are some more videos of Leo having some tummy time.

While Ellis was having his nap, Mum and Chloe came over for a visit to give me a bit of moral support as I was struggling quite a bit with being stuck in with a couple of demanding babies. Mum kindly did my ironing and I popped out to the post office too. Cheers guys, it was great to see you.

Ellis napped from 11am ish until I woke him up at just gone 2pm. All the pooing had obviously taken it out of him.

The afternoon was spent pretty much like the morning, going back and forth from the toilet to the sofa to watch Peppa Pig.

My friend Vivien was due to come over late afternoon but she called to say she was unwell too so wouldn't be coming after all which was a shame.

Even though Ellis was unwell we had a really good day with potty training. He hardly used the potty and was very happy to go to poo on the toilet which is just what you want to happen. He also didn't have one accident in his pull-ups which was also encouraging. Making good progress.

I will be happy when I no longer have to write about Ellis' weeing and pooing habits.

In the evening, my best friend Lucy came over to baby sit so that Rob and I could go out for a meal and a chat. It was well overdue and we had a really good time. We relaxed, ate good food and generally enjoyed each others company. We talked about loads of different things and I love that we constantly talk about our travelling days. It's something only we share together that isn't all about our children. I love them to death but sometimes it's nice to have a break.

This morning I was feeling more upbeat. I had a lovely evening with Rob and although Leo woke me at 3:50am for about an hour I was feeling good.

The first thing Ellis said to me was wee on Thomas seat Mummy. And that he did. He had only done a little wee in his pull-ups too which was amazing.

After that he did a poo and then asked for Peppa Pig, which he got. While he watched this I got breakfast ready.

I decided that as yesterday was so successful with the pull-ups that I would be brave and put him in proper pants all day. They have George on them from Peppa Pig so I actually think that helps. I tell him not to wee or poo on George as that would make him unhappy. It worked. Not one accident all day and he can pull them down when he needs to go. He only used the potty twice and prefers to use the toilet.

During the day I could tell that Ellis was getting bored and would then say to me, "poo poo then Peppa Mummy". Basically I'm sure he was pushing some out so that he could watch some telly! Crafty kid.

I put him up for his nap and he stayed there for 2 hours, wide awake. No wee in his pull-ups though which was brilliant.

I then got the kids ready, put them in the car and went up to my Mum and Dad's house.

Ellis played really nicely and had fun drawing with Grandad. We had Chinese take-away for dinner which was much better then my heated up food on Tuesday. Then I bathed Leo and Mum did Ellis.

Today, was the first day ever, since Ellis was born, that he didn't have a sleep at some point during the day. I really do hope that it is a one off as I couldn't bare to think of having him up all day at the moment. We shall see tomorrow.

Ellis had clothes on today, pants and shorts and no accidents. I am so proud of him and although I know we aren't there yet, I am certain we have got over the worst of it. I might be wrong, but I hope not. The next challenge now is being out and about and seeing if he asks me to go to the toilet. We have a busy weekend planned where we will be out so that will be a test.

The last few days have been rough, tough and flipping hard work. Poor Leo has been pretty much abandoned so I have really tried hard today to make it up to him. I gave him long feeds, made sure I talked to him loads and played with him too. He is such a sweetie.

Sorry for the long entry with little to no pictures and videos but I don't have time to do everything!

Toilet

Today was another good day for the potty training. Ellis did a small wee in his booster seat at breakfast time but that was the only accident of the day.

In the morning I realised that Leo hadn't done as much stuff as Ellis had done when he was little so I have started to fix that by giving him some time in the Bumbo.

Followed by time in the door bouncer.

I have also let him play on his mat and gave him some tummy time which I will try and video tomorrow.

I also need to practice giving Leo a bottle so that I can start to go out again, maybe to yoga or line dancing. I would only be able to go to one. That in mind I tried to express a bottle this morning but it was rather hard work as Leo was crying wanting a feed and Ellis was trying to "help" me. He said he wanted a go too.

After lunch Mum came over and we all went swimming. It was really busy at the pool and we only stayed in for half an hour, which was enough.

We had a tea and cake in the cafe before going home.

Mum looked after Ellis while I rushed to Sainsbury's for some pull-ups for Ellis and then back home I cooked us a chili.

Mum phoned me to say she got home okay and as I was putting the phone down, I noticed that Ellis had ran to his potty. He had been complaining about needing a poo all day so I thought this might be it and I was right! Yay Ellis! He then phoned Nanny and Daddy to tell them all about it.

Not long after we had eaten, Ellis was running around again saying "poo poo on the toilet Mummy". Well I thought he can give it go. I told him he had one try as Leo was crying so I needed to get back. Well, he did it! I was so happy that I took pictures of it. This is a picture of Ellis saying poo poo and being really chuffed with himself. He had 2 stories at bed time to reward him.

I hope the good work continues tomorrow but it will be a very big challenge as we have a music group in the morning and then Mummy afternoon at Charlotte's. I'm not feeling confident and want to put him in pull-ups but I wont. Mummy on edge tomorrow then.

Wee Accident

Boring day today really. Didn't do anything of interest. We went up my parents house in the afternoon so that Rob could do some work on the computers. I pottered about messing around with the kids.

Leo did a really good job lifting his head up while on his front. He is getting pretty strong now. I also had him in a nice outfit but forgot my camera so couldn't take a picture. Will probably dress him in the same tomorrow so will take one then.

Mum and Dad came home just before 5 and took Ellis up to the field. They were gone an hour and unfortunately he had a wee wee accident. He did do a poo in the potty today though so that is good news. I don't know what to do next. When he has clothes on he just goes to toilet in them. When he has no bottoms on he is always on and off the potty going to toilet. I'll keep trying.

Ellis had a massive paddy at bath time for some reason that Rob and I just couldn't work out. He just wouldn't stop crying, saying Mummy no. Very strange.

Both boys went to sleep no problem tonight which was great. I just hope Leo sleeps through.

Carnage

Things didn't go so well with the potty training today. Ellis spent most of his time in the morning running around saying he needed to do a poo poo but wouldn't do it on the toilet or potty and was getting upset about doing it on the floor. We tried to encourage him by using toys etc and offering him a reward but none of it worked.

Rob took Ellis swimming in the afternoon and I packed up the bags with change of clothes etc as I just thought there might be an accident, and unfortunately I was right. Ellis was playing in the park when Rob noticed a wet patch on his jeans. Further examination showed utter carnage as Ellis had emptied a day and halves worth of feces in his George underwear. Rob cleaned him up and brought him home.

I don't feel like I'm back to square one at all but I do wonder how I will notice any progress when you take one step forward and two back. He did 2 poos in the potty 2 days ago and then today he just couldn't do it. It is going to be a big hurdle and I'm not sure what to do to make it easier for him. I tried putting the potty under the computer desk, the table, behind the curtain, in his pooing corner etc but nothing worked.

Will try all over again tomorrow.

Leo and I had a lovely afternoon. He had about 3 or 4 feeds, undisturbed in peace. It was great. He had a nap for about half an hour so I looked through our photos which need sorting out.

No pictures or videos from today so boring written entry.

No Accidents!

Our second day of potty training was very successful. Ellis didn't have one accident all day but I think the main reason for that is he didn't poo all day either.

I've heard a lot of people say that they stay in for a week while they potty train but I just can't do that. I think I would go insane and Ellis would be climbing the walls after 2 days.

We relaxed around the house in the morning. I sorted through some clothes and Ellis and I watched the lovely summer weather from our back door. Of course he was sat on the potty the whole time.

I didn't put Ellis down for his nap as we were due to meet up with my AB group at about 12pm and I didn't want to be late again. Plus Claire and her gang were going to follow me to Nicky's house.

I did the routine of putting Ellis on the potty then in his pants and in the car, sat on a towel before going to meet up with Claire.

We got onto the motorway and it was crawling along. Instant panic! I had the potty in the car so worse case I could pull over onto the hard shoulder but that would be dangerous so I just did my best to distract Ellis until we arrived at Nicky's house.

When we arrived it was tipping down with rain again but I couldn't wait in the car too long as I needed to get Ellis to a potty.

I got soaked getting everything in but we managed it and Ellis got to the potty in time.

I left Ellis' trousers and pants off for the remainder of our stay and luckily his t-shirt was quite long so he wasn't flashing too much.

It was the usual manic visit and even more so for me as I was constantly making sure that Ellis knew where his potty was, and obviously emptying it, waving and washing hands etc. I was a bit more concerned than normal as he hadn't done a poo that morning.

Nicky's house is rather large so the babies were put in one room and the toddlers pretty much stayed in another. I called the babies room the nursery and regularly checked up on everyone. They were all amazingly well behaved.

One of the new members of the group is Scarlett, Claire's 3rd child. She also has Isabella and Roman, and today I was able to get a picture of her. The first time she was crying but I later got one that was happier.

Okay, so in the AB group of Mummies who have met up already, in order of babies birth is as follows:

Nicky, George and Harry
Sarah, Oliver and Amelie
Me, Ellis and Leo
Sophie, Piers and Gus
Claire, Isabella, Roman and Scarlett
Sophie, Maggie and Ted

Leo and Harry sucking their thumbs

Gus

Leo

Ted

Gus again

From the top of the table around, George, Sophie, Maggie, Roman, Isabella

Leo and Harry

Claire with Scarlett

I went through the same routine to get Ellis home, loaded up the car, put him on the potty, got him dressed and then got home as soon as I could to put him straight back on the potty.

I think he has done really well with the potty training but I'm not sure if what I am doing is right. He basically has no clothes on during the day and he regularly (all the time) goes to wee on the potty and asks to go to the potty etc, but as soon as you put pants on him he has an accident. I suppose a few more days of being naked he might get it a bit better but his groups are starting again soon so I was hoping he would be better by then. Fingers crossed.

Rob was home when we got back and he had the Bumbo chair out and ready for us to try Leo in it.

This then meant we could all sit as a family at the table. I loved it! There is still room for one more on the end. ;o)

Shortly after it was bath and bed time.

No poos from Ellis today so I'm sure he will need to go tomorrow. I only hope it isn't on the floor.

Serious Potty Training

WARNING - A LOT OF TOILET CONTENT IN THIS BLOG ENTRY

Today was the day. For a long time now Ellis has been using the potty on and off during the day and has had only 3 accidents so far. The first time he did a wee when I put some pants on him, and the two other times have been poo on the floor cause he didn't know he needed to go and it just came out as he was crouched down playing with his toys. NICE!

After my new purchases from yesterday I was feeling confident. I knew we would be staying in for most of the day and then the rest of it was going to be spent at my Mum and Dad's house so I could continue it there anyway. The only thing would be the car journey up to their house.

We started the day with Ellis using his new Thomas seat on the loo itself and he loves it! He kept climbing up and down, washing his hands etc, and yes he did wee wee. He was quite upset when I took him into the living room to use the potty instead.

The main hurdle of the day was to do a poo in the potty and not on the floor. Ellis used the potty for wees during the morning in the kitchen but then insisted on bringing the potty into the living room.

I was sat feeding Leo and I couldn't see Ellis on the potty behind the sofa. He was just sat there with a book but I could hear that he was actually doing a poo! I couldn't believe it! He just did it all on his own. I knew what would happen next so I had already put Leo down when Ellis jumped up shouting that he had done a poo Mummy! Luckily nothing was attached and he had indeed done a poo in the potty. We cheered and jumped around, emptied the potty, cleaned up and phoned Daddy to let him know. Sorry I know you will be disappointed but I didn't take a picture.
Things were a lot more relaxed after that although I reminded him about the potty every 10 minutes or so, and he spent his time running around naked and weeing on the potty.

I think maybe I was too relaxed and a bit eager as I put some boxer shorts on him and he very quickly did a wee in them. Luckily it was on the kitchen floor so very easy to clean up.

I put a pull up nappy on him for his nap as although he was dry yesterday I was sure he wouldn't be today. He did a wee before I put him into bed. As luck would have it, he did wee in his pull up which was a bit of a shame but still we were doing well.

He did a huge wee straight after his nap but unfortunately the potty stuck to him so when he jumped up, it jumped up with him, wee on the floor again. We had a laugh about it though and I cleaned it up.

He was then naked until it was time to go to my Mum and Dad's house. I had put an old towel in the car, made him wee just before I put pants and shorts on him. I then loaded him in the car and left.

As soon as I arrived at Mum's he said he had done a wee wee but I checked and he hadn't so I passed him off to Dad who quickly took him inside to their potty for him to use, which he did. I tell you this kid can pee for England and on demand too. That will definitely be the next challenge, getting him to hold it for longer periods of time.

We had a really nice time, just chatting, playing and using the potty about 100 times for little dribbles of wee.

I had let Leo have some nappy free time so he was just lying on a towel on the floor conversing with his Grandad. He was chatting so much but as soon as I got the camera out, he stopped!

I got him dressed as he was a bit chilly and then fed him until he went asleep.

He has not been himself today and I have blamed his recent jabs and the fact that he hasn't had an undisturbed feed all day. Hopefully if the potty training goes well he will soon be able to have his Mummy back.

Grandad took Ellis out for half an hour to do some work up the field. He took the potty with him but I don't think they used it. He came home dry and used the potty straight away, twice!

Mum prepared a lovely buffet of food for us all to pick from. It was amazing and so much choice. My favourite had to be the bread and butter which reminded me of my Grandad Dolman.

I did a plate for Ellis and I had already eaten while he was out so I fed Leo.

Shortly after dinner Ellis started running around like a headless chicken. He sat on the potty and did 3 dribbles before I worked out that he really needed to do a poo. He eventually said he needed a poo but kept jumping off the potty and running around. I think he was really trying to find somewhere a bit more private as the potty was in the middle of the kitchen. Mum had the idea that we place the potty under the breakfast bar and then talk amongst ourselves. Would you believe it, it worked! This time though there was a cling on which fell off down his leg, onto the floor then under his feet too. Thankfully they have ceramic tiles so Nanny grabbed the wipes and we were cleaned up in no time. 2 poos in one day, both near enough totally in the potty. I was so proud of him and I spun him around whilst cheering.

Bath time was done at Nanny's house and Grandad even read Ellis his story so all I did when I got home was to put Ellis on the toilet again for a little wee and then bed for both of them.

I am exhausted with a headache but they day was very successful, only 1 accident. Tomorrow will be a bit of a challenge as we have a longer car journey to do followed by a few hours at someones house. I will be as prepared as I can be and will let you know how we get on obviously.

Ellis took a while to settle tonight but I listened to him at his door and he was saying, "yay, you did it! you did it! yay!" I think he "gets" it, I just hope tomorrow goes well.

Big Park

We didn't really have anything planned for today so after a phone call with Mum, we decided to go to Ikea for some lunch.

Leo was his usual chatty self and I tried to get some of it on video.

Mum and Chloe arrived when Ellis was still napping. They entertained themselves with puzzles while I quickly did my ironing and pottered about.

We woke Ellis up just before one, got ready and all piled into one car. It was then that I discovered that if we are to have more kiddies, we will need a bigger car.

We went straight to the cafe for some food and we were greeted with a disco as they were having a Crayfish Party!

Ellis loved it and I caught him dancing on a few occasions.

While at Ikea, Ellis said he needed a wee wee. I took him to the toilet but it was too late and he wouldn't get on the loo anyway. This prompted me to visit Mothercare.

I picked up a Thomas seat for the loo, and a travel potty with liners, to go with the 2 steps I had purchased at Ikea for £1.99 each, bargain! I was now feeling more organised and ready to actually try it properly.

We promised the kids could go to the park so we parked up by the local park and let them have a run around. Chloe is 4 so wanted to go in the bigger park and Ellis soon followed. Sally and Anna arrived at the same time too which is always nice to see them.

Ellis got on okay. He went on the roundabout, big slide and tried to go on a tyre swing but I made him fall off of it by accident and he wouldn't get back on. Such a shame cause I know he will love it. I will try again soon.

Mum spent her time sweating and worrying about Chloe who had climbed up the big red climbing triangle. Mum was sure she was stuck at the top but she climbed down fine. Very brave girl.

Ellis tried to leave the park and made a run for it across the grass. I ran after him and rugby tackled him to the ground. It was so nice to be able to do that sort of thing with him again as being pregnant and then having my bad pelvis I haven't been as mobile as I he needed me to be. In the process though I broke my flip flops. The ones that survived a trip around the globe for nearly a year. They were £20 from Oasis but they lasted me years and have travelled a few hundred miles on my feet and a few more in my suitcase.

I binned my flip flops and had to go to Sainsbury's near-by to buy some new ones. I looked like a right tramp walking around bare foot.

We stopped at the ice-cream van and bought me and the kids something. We then contained them in a trolley so that we could walk around the shops.

They were really good but Ellis' lolly melted very quickly and he was soon covered in sticky juice.

We eventually made it home and Mum and Chloe left quite quickly.

When I was unpacking everything, Ellis noticed the travel potty and wanted to try it out. I was quite pleased really as I was bit concerned that he wouldn't like it and would refuse to use it if I was out. I was very happy that he would sit on it and at one point I couldn't even get him off.

He hasn't once wanted to sit on the toilet to have a go, but as soon as the blue Thomas seat was put on, he wanted to sit on it! He used the step to climb up and then used the step to wash his hands.

I now feel more confident about actually trying to potty train him as he seems happy to be using all the equipment that I have bought. I even managed to get him in a pair of boxer shorts so that he could sit up to the table for dinner. Ah, my little boy is growing up so fast! Soon it will be big bed, pre-school, school, college (hopefully), university (hopefully), travelling, marriage etc etc!

Bath and bed routine was the usual but it took me a while to settle Leo. Rob came home at 7:45pm and I was still feeding and winding, feeding and winding.

Serious potty training starts tomorrow.

Twins + Newborn

Leo slept well Sunday and Monday night. Another few nights like that and I should be feeling so much better. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Monday morning we went to a Little Stars class at the village hall. I was determined to wear Ellis out so he walked all the way there.

The class was really good and Ellis seemed to really enjoy himself. I must admit I enjoyed it too.

I then made Ellis walk all the way home again, the long way around.

We had lunch when we got in and then I put him up for his nap.

I had planned to do a big food shop in the afternoon but I was really hoping that Mum could come and give me a hand as it is physically hard work. Mum had hurt her ankle really badly but still managed to come and help me which was great and made things much easier.

Rob came home Monday night which was really nice. He didn't get back until late so missed seeing the boys.

We had sausage sandwiches and then went to bed by 10:30pm which I was really happy about.

Tuesday morning I had agreed to take care of Anna while her Mummy and Daddy were at work. She was dropped off at 7:30am and almost immediately, Ellis and Anna were chatting away.

There was only about 30 minutes of squabbling over some toys but they soon settled down. They played so nicely together it was lush. I experienced what it is like to have twin toddlers with a newborn and it wasn't too bad actually.

We did a lot of reading together and they took in turns turning pages and lifting flaps on the books. My throat was very sore. I was amazed that they sat so close together and Ellis didn't even once try to push Anna away. I so hope the pushing phase has gone now.

I had an idea that they could play with the play dough together so I set it up and sat them at the table. Anna didn't like it so promptly got down to play with some people.

They both decided to sit together to have their snacks and drink around 10am which was so cute.

I think they enjoyed each others company.

Leo didn't mind the extra noise in the house and quite happily fell asleep in his chair. He has outgrown the sponge liner so I have removed it. He looks a lot comfier now.

I put Ellis up for his nap at 11am and then Anna and I played a bit more. I then decided to put Leo in the door bouncer for a few minutes but while I was changing Anna's nappy, I heard him straining! Next thing I know, poo has leaked out the side of his nappy all over the floor and he is merrily dancing around in it! I scrubbed the carpet as much as I could but it still looks like a ton of Chicken Korma landed there.

Anna's Daddy arrived at 12:20pm to take her home for lunch and hopefully a nap.

I then quickly tidied up, had my lunch and fed Leo.

I then had to get Ellis up, dressed and fed before taking him to Anna's house for the afternoon.

I dropped Ellis off with Sally, Nick and Anna at 2pm and then I took Leo to see the health visitor.

Leo was weighed at 13lb 10 1/2oz which is very good and he is still following along the correct line in his little red book.

Next was the nurse for his jabs. 2 injections. I had given him a feed in the waiting room so he was sound asleep as we went into the room. I woke him up a bit but the first injection woke him up a lot. The second one was just as bad but after I flicked his feet and gave him a cuddle, he was fine. Even the nurse said he settled down quite quickly.

I went home and put Leo in the buggy so that I could walk to Sally's house. Don't know why, just fancied a walk.

Ellis and Anna were still playing nicely together so I sat having a drink, eating cake and feeding Leo, while watching them play.

Ellis likes playing with the In The Night Garden Toys and one of them is called Makka Pakka. Ellis always says Makka Makka. So I tried to get him to say it properly and he tried soooo hard but still came out with Makka Makka. Then he moved on to Pakka Pakka. It was really funny but he did try.

Anna wanted to watch Peppa Pig and I said I didn't mind it being on so the kiddies sat like zombies watching the T.V. When Sally turned the telly off, Ellis came crying to me saying "no Mummy, Peppa Pig!" Bless him.

Ellis is still being really clingy but both Sally and I love the fact that our kids are happy to be with each other and in each other's houses. I think because they see each other at least 3 times a week and Ellis has been looked after by Sally a few times in the past that they are just used to it. If they get into the same pre-school in January then I'm sure they will spend even more time at each other's houses, having dinner etc. Lush.

We were home by 5pm and I casually got dinner ready and we ate together, all 3 of us.

Bath and bed routine was easy for some reason and Leo settled first time and was asleep by 7:10pm. I hope that doesn't mean he will wake earlier tomorrow.

Door Bouncer

Haven't had the chance, or energy to do any blogging over the last few days. That now means I have to write about the last 4 days to catch up but I am going to keep it very brief as again I am feeling tired and it is quite late.

Thursday was a good day. Rob was home in the morning and then I went to Claire's house for my active birthing Mummy group. I'm going to call them ABM group from now on. I didn't put Ellis down for his nap as I wanted to get there on time at 12pm.

We arrived on time and although not first to arrive at the address, we were the first ones into the house.

Claire had a baby girl, Scarlett 4 weeks ago and she looked amazing! I didn't get a picture unfortunately but will try to next time.

Sophie with Ted and Sophie with Piers and Gus were there too and we had a really, really nice time sat outside chatting, eating and drinking.

We had to leave a bit early to get to my Mum's for dinner but when we arrived she was still out with Chloe at the park.

We didn't have to wait long before they both arrived home.

Chloe stayed for dinner too which was my favourite meal, sausages, mash, peas, gravy, fried onions and mushrooms. It was yummy and we all cleared our plates.

Ellis had a bath with Chloe before we packed up the car and went home.

On Friday, I don't know how I managed it but time passed very quickly and we didn't get out of the house until nearly 4pm! I wanted to go to the shops to take a t-shirt back for Rob and to see if I could get Ellis some boxer shorts. I managed to do all of it and was getting in the car to go home when Ellis said "park now". I forgot I had mentioned to him about going to the park on the way home. I had to do it.

I drove to the park and carried Leo in his car seat which was a stupid idea. Ellis had a wicked time and he hasn't been there in ages. There was a huge difference in the way he could climb the ladder to the slide and use the see-saw etc. Last time we went you had to stand behind him while he climbed the ladder but he was up it before I could reach him!

We didn't stay long and he was good at having to leave.

Rob arrived home and he helped me to get Ellis into bed as I was due to be going out in the evening. Leo for some reason just wouldn't settle as well as he usually does but I eventually ran out the house wishing Rob good luck.

I picked up Sally and Sharon and we went to a local pub for food and a drink. I had a really, really nice relaxing evening. The food was good and we talked non stop about loads of different things. I couldn't stop talking about Ellis though as he had been such an Angel all week.

Leo slept really well that night, eventually and didn't wake until 6am for his feed.

Saturday morning we all just chilled out around the house. Rob spent lots of time with his boys and I tried to get a few things done upstairs.

We did put Leo in the door bouncer for the first time which was ace! I know he is going to really love it.

My little happy boy.

In the afternoon we went swimming as we hadn't been for about 6 weeks. It was really quiet and my best friend Lucy was there with her 2 girls, Shauna and Ashlee, so I had a nice natter with her.

Leo loved it again and he stayed quite warm so we were in the pool for about half an hour. Rob stayed in with Ellis while I got out and went to feed Leo in the cafe.

Lucy sat in the cafe with me for ages and we had a nice chat and shared a slab of chocolate before it was time to go home.

Ellis and Leo were really tired after swimming.

Sunday morning I had a lie in which was great! I had to give Leo a large feed so I didn't start my lie in for a while but I tried to make the most of it.

I got up at 9:30 as I was hungry and thirsty.

Ellis has been very clingy recently and constantly whinges "Mummy, Mummy!" at me. I was trying to eat my breakfast with him attached to my leg crying at me.

Rob went back to bed and I played with the boys and put Ellis up for his nap at 11am. He didn't go to sleep until 11:30pm.

I got everyone out of bed at 1:30pm and we all had lunch together.

Leo had some time on his mat and Ellis did some colouring.

Ellis was a very dribbly baby and he constantly wore a bib. I was hoping that Leo wasn't going to be the same but today I had to relent and put one on him as he was getting soaked. If anything I would say he is worse than Ellis! I have no idea how I am going to keep up with the amount of bibs that will need to be used to keep him dry.

As I was taking the picture of Leo with his bib on, I realised that I rarely take pictures of Ellis on his own anymore. I think I found out the reason why. It is mainly because he is always moving around so pictures are blurred and also because he isn't happy having them taken anymore, as you can tell by this picture.

I gave Leo yet another huge feed (growing day today) and he was really sleepy. I asked Rob to take some pictures of the two of us but he woke up. Both pictures are blurry but I really like them.

In the afternoon we went up to my Mum and Dad's house to pick up some post and so that Rob could have a look at my Dad's computer which wasn't working properly.

I actually had a nice time as Ellis was happy playing with different toys and I got to spend time with Leo just talking, playing and having cuddles and I didn't feel guilty once.

As soon as we got home I put the dinner on and Ellis helped Rob to clear up some things.

It was quite late by the time we sat down to eat and Leo wasn't happy at all. I stuffed my food while Rob held Leo and then we swapped. I ran up and bathed Leo and started to feed him while Rob took care of Ellis. Things are sooooo much easier with 2 adults around!

Leo fell asleep so I put him in bed and used the opportunity to have a shower. Rob bathed and put Ellis to bed.

Rob and I then spent our time cleaning up the kitchen and putting lots of stuff away.

Late night for me tonight. I so hope Leo sleeps well. So much for keeping it brief!
