Happy Halloween

We had a brilliant day today, well afternoon and evening. I will write all about it soon but it's getting late so just wanted to post some pictures for now.

5 Months Old

On Monday Leo was 5 calendar months old so I set him up for a photo session. He was in a good mood and I was able to get tons of good shots. I have only posted a few but I took hundreds and I kept a lot of them.

This is Ellis at 5 months.

My blue eyed boy now.

Leo certainly has grown and has started to really get around now. It's crazy to think that he is only 5 months old and can move around the living room.

Hand now...

...hand at birth.

It will soon be time to start weaning him and I am starting to get myself ready. I have bought all new tools etc as Ellis' are very used. I have also bought some butternut squash which I will cook and puree this weekend. I will also read my bible to weaning which I read last time and it helped me so much.

Someone else who has been cooking is Ellis. Rob is so patient with him when it comes to letting him do things, that they had an amazing time making some cookies.

To give an example of how large the cookies actually were, Rob took a picture of one next to a car!

When Ellis woke up from his nap, he was allowed to try out his own cooking.

Some pictures Rob took of the boys together.

Recently Ellis had his hair cut and I said I would post some pictures of it. I know it may look wonky but that is actually quite good for his hair. He has a double crown and 2 cows licks, one at the back and one at the front. This basically means that his hair will never ever go into any type of style without looking a bit messy.

I have recently started to buy winter clothes for the boys. I haven't obviously bought too much for Leo as he has Ellis' stuff but I have bought Ellis a new dressing gown, some jumpers (the grey one I love), vests, joggers, jeans, hat, scarf and gloves, boots and a winter coat. He is pretty much set now but I'm sure I will get a few more things. I love buying them clothes. I wish I had the same enthusiasm for myself but I'm sure Rob wouldn't like that.

Us chilling at home.

We have a lot planned over the next few weeks. Ellis going into a big bed, Halloween party, Leo going into his big bed, weaning, Christmas shopping and I have a few nights out planned which I can't wait for.

Will do another blog soon.

Ton

I have a ton of blogging to do and I am behind because my husband has lovingly been re-building my PC with Windows 7. This will slow me down a bit as I have to learn some new things. Also I have the worst head cold that is sucking the life out of me so don't really feel up to blogging at the moment. Will be back as soon as I can.

Christmas Planning

Now that I am back from my holiday I plan to try and get organised for Christmas. I'm sure it's a little too early to be doing it all but I don't have as much time as I used to.

For Christmas this year we are staying home all day which is going to be brilliant, and people are going to visit us instead. I love it as the boys don't have to be packed into the car twice in one day just to visit the Grandparents (as much as we love them). Then on Boxing Day the plan is to go for a walk with my family in the morning and stay for lunch and then go to Rob's parents in the afternoon for dinner and evening. I hope it all works out as I have it in my head.

Last year I bought Ellis a new Santa sack with his name on and I bought a spare for Leo as I was pregnant at the time. I was going to get his name put on it this year but the company I bought it from won't do it. I will have to find someone else to do it or buy another one and save the spare for the potential 3rd sprog (nugget) ;o)

In Sainsbury's today I was suckered in to buying some Crimbo stuff of the kids. I though they could use it throughout December to get in the Christmas mood. I've also seen some lush pyjamas in Boots that I thought I could get for both of them so they match! How cute will that be!? Also I wanted to buy them matching outfits for Christmas Day. I never ever thought I would want to do that but I just do. Sad I am.

Had a very hectic day today. My Mum couldn't help me out with the music classes and I really wanted to go as they both missed their class last week. Thankfully Sally came to my rescue as she always does. I think I may have to start paying her soon.

I dropped Ellis off at hers, put the car seat in her car and zoomed to Leo's class. Then they met me there. It all worked really well and I love that Sally doesn't take any nonsense from Ellis.

Ellis was a really good boy today. Leo was iffy. Leo moaned, not screamed but just did that annoying noise all the way around the shop while I was trying to think about what food I really needed so I could get out of there pronto. Half way around Ellis decides he needs to go to the toilet. I would either have to pay for my shopping so far and take the trolley with me or get someone to watch my shopping, get them both out and take them. It wasn't too bad as I put Leo on the changing mat in the family toilet and he stayed there while I sorted Ellis.

Today Ellis was 2 years, 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days old. Here is a picture of him chilling while watching Peppa Pig.

I messed around taking pictures of Leo and while I was trying to put the shopping away, he tried to become an escape artist.

Been a busy bumble today and my back is aching. Will hopefully be in bed by 10pm but with Rob home tonight I feel I should stay up longer. We will see.

Not Too Bad

What a grotty day. The weather was just gloomy and miserable.

We casually got ready this morning and went up to my Mum's house so that we could get our hair cut. The appointment was at 11:30am but we got there earlier than that so Ellis could play with some different toys etc.

Ellis didn't want his hair cut to start with and he ended up sitting on my lap again, crying. Leanne the hairdresser, and I did a sterling job of keeping his mind occupied and she managed to do quite a good hair cut. She did it shorter on the back and sides than normal and left it long and thick on top. I'll try and get some pictures in the morning.

We stayed for lunch which was really nice and then I packed the troops into the car to go home.

Ellis fell asleep within 3 minutes and I am not making that up, so I drove slowly home.

It wasn't long before we had to leave again for Mummy afternoon at Sharon, Sophie and bump's house.

We arrived a little early but soon Sally and Anna had arrived too and the kids played while the adults drank and ate. I put Leo down for a short nap but he was still a bit grumpy which was a shame.

When we got home I put him in the door swing and he was well happy.

Ellis makes Leo laugh more than anyone and I love watching them interact with each other. It makes me feel so happy.

Leo was grumpy again so I fed him and he promptly fell asleep. He was sound asleep at bath time so I bathed Ellis and left Leo to sleep. Once I had finished with Ellis I thought I would just change Leo and put him to bed before drying Ellis' hair and putting him to bed. Big mistake! Leo screamed and I had to leave him to it as Ellis was wet and running around naked. I had to get Ellis sorted and in bed before I could help Leo. I wont be doing that again, I'll just let Leo sleep.

Ellis went to bed fine and after a short feed Leo went back to sleep. Leo really needs to go in his big bed soon as he constantly hits his hands/arms on the side of the crib and it wakes him up. I hope he sleeps better when he is moved. If you count the 10pm feed, he is still waking on average 4 times a night. I actually don't feel too bad at the moment. I hope that continues.

Dinner Together

The weekend was really boring. Rob was busy working so I just had to occupy the boys.

Saturday afternoon I went out for a walk to the shops and bought a cot side which will help to stop Ellis from falling out of his bed when we convert it to a normal bed, which we aim to do by next weekend. I need to find bedding though and haven't been happy with anything yet.

Sunday morning was much the same as Saturday.

In the afternoon I cleaned Leo's high chair and cooked a roast dinner so we all sat at the table together for the first time. It was Leo's first proper go in a high chair and he did really well.

In the evening I decided I wanted to try Leo out with a bottle again. He did a really good job this time and managed to drink 3fl oz, holding the bottle himself!

The boys chilled out until it was time for their bath and bed routine. It works really well when Rob is home to help as I am able to feed Leo before he starts to scream the house down and Ellis actually gets to hear his story.

my happy Buddha

Ellis is a bit off colour at the moment. He isn't eating well, sleeps quite a bit and is acting out quite a bit which usually happens when he is unwell. I hope he feels better soon.
