Christmas Holiday

Where do I start?

Christmas Eve was spent getting ready for the big day. Mummy was busy wrapping presents and sorting out all the things that we would need to take with us to Nanny and Grandad Rennolds' house. Daddy went out shopping for some last minute presents for Mummy and I sat using the laptop for a while.

In the late afternoon we met up with Simon, Tilly, Ethan, Wayne, Nic, bump, and Drew. We were supposed to be meeting up to have some food but it took us nearly an hour to find somewhere to go that could accommodate all of us, without having to wait a further hour for a table. We were soon to discover that the pub had now stopped serving food! AH!

Christmas morning arrived and I had to be woken up by Mummy as she wanted to get started with opening some presents. We sat in bed together and I started opening my stocking gifts. It was really good fun and I got loads of nice things. A few of them were, a cover for my new passport, matching luggage tag, musical hammer, a farm animals book, and a mini maraca.

Once we had finished the stocking, Mummy rushed downstairs to put the Christmas tree lights on and then we all proceeded to sit around the tree and open more presents! Mummy cut her finger on the first present she opened from Daddy, which was 2 glass chopping boards. She also received a cardigan, a CSI computer game, Galaxy hot chocolate drink, shower scrub, Clinique moisturiser, selection box, tub of ice-cream and a crossword book.

From me Mummy got a baby grow and bib saying I love Mummy. I later heard Mummy telling Daddy that it reminds her of when Homer bought Marge a bowling ball!

Daddy got lots of things too, slippers, 2 jumpers, a flask, a book, an ice scraper, a computer game, and a mug from me saying I love my Daddy.

I got loads! Teddies, toys, books, puzzles, and clothes.

I forgot to mention that not all of the above was opened in the morning as time was slipping away and we needed to get to Nanny Rennolds' house by 11.

We arrived at Nanny's house right on time. No one else had arrived yet so we sat around waiting for the others. They arrived not long after us and we immediately started opening yet more presents. There were hundreds of them under the tree and I got to open a few with Mummy and a few with Daddy. My favourite gift was a wooden lorry with coloured blocks.

It was manic at Nanny's. Chloe was opening everything, even stuff that wasn't hers! There was wrapping paper, bows and boxes all over the floor. It was good fun though.

Mummy put me down for a nap after all that excitement and when I woke up, well, when I was woken up by Mummy, dinner was on the table.

Christmas lunch was as mad as the present opening. Everyone was telling jokes and laughing at how rubbish they were. We had to eat quick though as we were due down Nanny George's house by 3:15.

We packed up the car and arrived at Nanny George's house a bit after we originally said. It was pretty close though.

Mummy and Daddy were starting to feel very unwell so just sat on the sofa while I opened some more presents, yes more presents, from Nanny and Granddad George and Uncle Dave.

I had my afternoon nap in Mummy's arms while everyone else played a TV game.

We left at around 6:30 to get home in time for me to have my bath and to go to bed. I was in bed by 7:15 and Mummy and Daddy were in bed by 7:30.

Boxing Day was spent with Mummy in bed and Daddy taking care of me. They would then take it in turns being the one in bed. Mummy was coughing really badly. The coughing got so bad and her temperature was so high that Daddy phoned NHS direct and they suggested that Mummy call the out of hours doctor, which she did. This then meant a trip up to the local hospital to get some antibiotics as Mummy has a chest infection.

27th December, was the same as Boxing Day except for a trip out to a local pub to meet up with our friends Pam and Rob from Canada. We had such a lovely time catching up and I got some amazing presents too. I received a plate, cup, spoon, bib and a Canadian money box with real Canadian coins in it!

Daddy had a trip to the doctors too and received some antibiotics as well.

Mummy put me in my big bed for the first time, thinking I would be less disturbed by her and Daddy coughing all the time. Well she was right as I slept from 7:30 until 4:30am. The only thing was, was that I didn't go back to sleep after that.

28th December, I started to feel unwell today. I had a temperature, cough, runny nose, and a croaky throat. I spent the day snoozing on Mummy and Daddy's lap.

I was taken to the doctors and they listened to my chest and told me that it sounded clear.

At night when I was sleeping, Daddy got worried about my breathing so we made another visit to the local hospital at 10:30pm to get me checked out. The doctor agreed that I was really hot and I had a lot of mucus trapped but that it wasn't on my chest. Mummy and Daddy just have to keep me cool and fill me up with Calpol.

29th December, again we just spent the day at home. Mummy and Daddy only finished opening their presents yesterday so today they started to tidy up the house and put all the new things away.

We all did really well for presents this year. Thank you to everyone who bought me a gift. I love them all.

30th December, I was feeling slightly better today. I lounged in my chair playing with my new toys, while Daddy cleaned the oven and Mummy pottered around the house.

In the afternoon Nanny and Granddad Rennolds came over and brought with them a huge box of goodies for Mummy and Daddy to enjoy. Mummy was really pleased with this as she felt that she had missed out over Christmas.

Nanny and Granddad have been ill too but it was so nice to see them.

I had my bath with my new toys but I just wasn't enjoying it for some reason. I was put in bed after a quick feed and I slept for about an hour. Around 8:30pm I woke up and Mummy could not get me to go to sleep in my crib. She put me down on her bed and I fell asleep straight away. I know its naughty but I need the comfort at the moment. I'm sure Mummy will be putting me back in my big bed soon.

Finally

Daddy behaved himself last night and came to bed just after 1am. He did disturb me though and Mummy had to give me a feed at about 1:30am. I woke a few times after that and we eventually got up at 8:30am.

We hurried around having breakfast and getting ready to get in the car and head down the motorway to Cardiff.

In Cardiff is Mummy's friend Anna, her man Rick and her son Owain.

We had a lovely time there. I was given loads of cuddles by everyone.

For some reason I was really hungry and had a very long feed, just after Mummy had told Anna that I don't feed for that long!

Owain has a book that is the same as one I have. We all sat together and he showed us how well he knows the words from the book.

Mummy and Daddy had a bite to eat, and I sat in Owain's old highchair watching everyone. I was chatting away, very happy to be there.

Nanny Rennolds phoned us while we were out and asked us to try and find her a Nintendo Wii. We looked but had no luck.

Mummy went mad tidying the house in the afternoon, while I was having my nap.

My Great Nanny Dolman, Nanny's Mum, used to do very crunchy stuffing to have on Christmas day. Mummy loves it so this year she had the job of making it. It takes ages as you have to keep turning the stuffing over and over until it is all nice and crispy. It smelled really good, I hope it tastes good too.

After my nap I came downstairs to find that Daddy had gone out.

Mummy was still really busy but she let me have some tummy time. The video was on me and I felt rather nervous but I managed to perform the perfect roll to the right. Finally! Mummy was very happy, to say the least, but I was just rather chilled out about the whole thing. Next time I have to roll from my back to my front - then there will be no stopping me.

It wasn't long before it was time for my bath and bed. I can't believe how quickly that comes around. Christmas Eve tomorrow and Mummy is very excited. Kids eh?

Gag

I was a good boy last night. Daddy wasn't though. I had a feed at 2:30am and Daddy was still downstairs. Mummy wasn't happy with him.

I then slept until 6am for another feed and then woke up at 8:30am. Not a bad night really.

Daddy went out in the morning to pick something up from the post office and he came back with a new hair cut. Mummy didn't notice at first but she was very pleased when she did.

For lunch Mummy and Daddy put together a huge spagetti bolognese and garlic bread. I sat with them at the table with my various toys. I had picked up my spoon and was investigating how far I could stick it down my throut before I was sick. The answer is, not that far.

Mummy gave me my cup so that I could get used to holding it and trying to tip it up to get the liquid out. I got soaked but had fun doing it.

Mummy cleaned me up and we went to visit Uncle Craig, Auntie Karen and Cousin Charley. We were due to meet up with Nanny Rennolds to help her finish off the Christmas food shopping.

We had a nice time, looking at photos and just watching Kamron (sorry, forgot to mention that Auntie Katie, Chloe and Kamron were there too) get covered in chocolate. Cousin Charley was funny, doing spider pig across the ceiling with a little help from her Daddy. Mummy didn't get it on video though.

We left and went straight to the shops. It wasn't that busy and we zoomed around picking up lots of nice things.

We dropped Nanny off and went straight home for my bath and bed. I wasn't as naughty as last night and was asleep by 7:45pm.

Coughing

Last night I was doing really well with my sleeping. I went to bed about 8 and didn't wake until 2am for a feed. Then at 4:15am Daddy had a coughing fit and woke me up. Well, I tried to get back to sleep for about 20 minutes but I just couldn't do it. I started screaming but Mummy had gone downstairs so that she could have a good cough and blow her nose. Daddy picked me up and cuddled me until she got back.

Mummy gave me a clean bum and a feed but I still couldn't go back to sleep. I played in my crib and I must have disturbed Mummy as she went back downstairs. It was about 6:10am by the time Mummy and I went back to sleep. That is the first time that it has ever happened and I hope it's the last.

We got up at the usual time and had breakfast and was ready to leave for swimming when I noticed Mummy running around like a maniac. After over hearing a telephone conversation with Daddy I realised that Mummy couldn't find her keys and we were going to be late for swimming.

Obviously she found them eventually, down the side of the sofa, and we made it on time.

This week, Chloe and Kamron's other Nanny, Mary, was with them. The swimming pool was slightly more crowded than normal as the kids are off school for Christmas.

After swimming we went home and had lunch and then shortly after we went to Nanny Rennolds' house because we wanted to see Uncle Mark, Auntie Nicky, and Cousins Megan and Elin.

We arrived quite early so we had fun just playing with the Christmas tree and dancing to Christmas songs. I also had some tummy time.

Everyone arrived just when I was due to have my nap so I was a bit grumpy. I had some quick cuddles before I was put on Nanny's bed.

While I was sleeping Mummy took some pictures of everyone.

Chloe was running around like a nutter with Elin and Megan following.

Auntie Katie was messing around.

Auntie Nicky.

Uncle Mark.

Cousin Kamron.

Cousin Elin, and Megan.

At around 5pm I woke up and Mummy came upstairs to feed me. Straight after I was taken down to see everyone and to have cuddles. I wasn't sure to start with but I soon started to enjoy myself.

I had my picture taken with Kamron and Megan.

Then all the kids got together for a picture. There is only one Cousin missing, Charley.

Daddy arrived quite late and after a quick chat we headed home. I had my bath and feed as usual but I was not ready for bed. Daddy tried to get me to sleep but it just didn't work. Mummy came up in the end and gave me some more food before I finally went to sleep. It was gone 9pm.

Ali

I found out this morning that Mummy had gone to line dancing for the first time in about 8 months. She had a really good time but I really missed her.

Mummy really wanted to have a lie in but I wouldn't let her. So we got up and had breakfast.

First stop of the day was to see Charlotte, Faith and Mark. Mark was home working on the car in the freezing cold. We sat in the living room, chatting and playing until after lunch time. Charlotte isn't feeling too well and we hope she gets better soon. Faith was her usual funny self. Tonight she is in for a surprise though, as her Mummy and Daddy are going to give her solids for the first time. You can see the results by clicking on the Team Challis link.

We left around lunch time and went home for some food and spent the afternoon playing games.

I didn't realise that we were going out in the afternoon, but Mummy loaded the car up and after picking up Nanny Rennolds, we arrived at a pub, where we met up with Nanny's friend Ali. I have heard a lot about her so it was nice to finally meet.

I sat patiently in the pub while they ate their dinner but we didn't stay too long as I had to get home for my bath.

We dropped Nanny home and then I went for my bath. I can't believe it is Friday again tomorrow! We are off swimming and then seeing my other cousins, Megan and Elin in the afternoon.

A Bottle!

Mummy was supposed to have her day off today but Daddy went back to bed as he was feeling unwell so Mummy got up with me.

Mummy didn't fancy staying in all day so we went out in the car to post a couple of Christmas cards.

We saw Helen and Louise from Mummy's work and then went to Nanny Rennolds' house.

We just chilled out with Nanny, Kamron and Chloe until about 4 o'clock. We left then, so that I could have my nap in the car.

I was put in my bed when we got home and I didn't get up until 5:15pm.

It was the usual routine in the evening and I was in bed by 7:30.

I don't know why but I woke up at about 9:40, which is very unusual for me. What was more unusual and unexpected was that Daddy came up to see me with a bottle of milk. Where was my Mummy?! I polished off the milk and Daddy gave me a clean bum before putting me back in bed. I will be having words tomorrow.

Christmas Shopping

I did really well with my sleeping last night. I woke at 3am and 6:10am and then again at 9:40am. Mummy needed the lie in as she was still feeling unwell.

We managed to drag Daddy out of bed and then went to the Mall, stopping off at a couple of other shops on the way.

We did loads of shopping and met back up with Daddy by the fountain which had a huge Christmas decoration above it, which I stared at for ages.

We had a nice cup of tea before going to some other shops near by. Mummy bought me another new sleeping bag, pictures to follow and some slippers as my socks always fall off when I am relaxing at home.

We finally got home after a trip to Ikea. We were supposed to only spend about £5 but ended up buying a desk and a chair!

I had fun playing with Daddy until it was time for my bath and bed.
