Day 13 - Turnover

The funk feeling continues today and I know I'm not right because I woke up in the middle of the night again.  I blamed it on alcohol and feeling hot on Sunday but last night I had no reason other than my head would not switch off.  I really need to get better at this grounding stuff.

I have lots of patience and I tend to not snap too easily, but when I do, I do it properly.  I haven't snapped yet but I'm teetering on the verge.  The boys are grating on me.  Every little moan or squeal is like nails down a black board, or in my case someone chewing on wool. 😬😬

I don't mean to sound all doom and gloom.  A friend of mine recently summed up a lot of what was going on in my head in her blog post, which you can find here.  She is much braver than me, putting her thoughts and feelings out there.  I probably should be more open on here given the current climate but I'm not ready and I probably never will be.

I'm doing lots of calming breaths and trying to relax my shoulders. 😌  This is how I feel though after 7 days of home schooling and 12 days isolating. 👵😄  I hate to think what it will be like in 3-6 months time!

Obviously posting that pic on Insta made a few people check in on me first thing and then I had a lovely surprise gift and hello from Sophie.  Thank you for the Easter egg.  Not sure it will last until then though 😋

Our lovely squirrel friend came for another visit this morning.  We've named her Sally and Leo managed to get a great picture of her upside down, stealing bird food.  I've ordered some more nuts this morning and might get a feeder too.  We had one in our old house and we used to get quite a few coming into the garden.  They totally destroyed the foam covers on the trampoline with their claws though.

Leo had a really positive day with his learning and I had no trouble from him at all.  Oscar wasn't too bad and Ellis was busy.  I think on days when Ellis doesn't have as much to do he becomes a massive distraction and it causes problems.

The boys played outside for a long time during their lunch break but they are starting to get injured a lot, so I let them watch a bit of Netflix.  They were so happy, especially when I served them pizza on the sofa!

Leo had a cooking lesson this afternoon making pasties (vegetable turnovers). If you know me, you know how much I dislike cooking.  I find no enjoyment in it whatsoever and I don't particularly relish (see what I did there? 😉) cleaning up from it either, but I did have a nice time with Leo.   He was a bit unsure to start with but really got into it and concentrated really well.  He loved it when the onions stung his eyes but we couldn't quite capture it in a photo, much to his disappointment.

I think they came out rather nice.  That's Rob's dinner sorted anyway 👍

Rob was home in the morning but had to go into work for the afternoon.  I'm not really sure what hours he is doing.  I think it's a case of, as and when, rather than a set thing.  He has to be home tomorrow though as Shauna Pops has us on her schedule so he'll take the boys to the park while that is going on.

I did the blog early tonight so that I can spend my evening doing some other things.  I have e-mails to answer, might do some gaming, have to order b-day cards and gifts to be delivered and I could really do with some shut off time.  I have a few Gogglebox episodes to catch up on and they make me laugh out loud.  I have tried to start a book, several times but I can't concentrate on it yet.  Give it a couple more weeks and I might of stopped fighting myself. 😄

Flower just because x
So, what have I learnt today? 🤔 That I can actually do a proper burpee without needing oxygen after.  I did more than one thank you very much! ⁨✊  I am looking forward to doing the school run 😜 and I am grateful for technology in this time of isolating.

Hopefully I'll sleep better tonight. 🤞
