Harold Helicopter

I haven't got much time so need to keep it brief. My Mum is doing my ironing, thank you very much, and the boys are both asleep.

Friday morning Iestyn came to stay with us for a couple of hours and Sarah and Toby came over too. It was really nice and the boys all played well together.

We had lunch and then shortly after went to a soft play centre. It was really expensive to get in but it was a really nice place.

Ellis started off a bit timid but I took his hand and we climbed up through all the apparatus and down the slides. He ended up having a really good time.

Saturday was Rob's birthday so we let him have a little bit of a lie in before taking him up a cuppa with his cards and presents.

We then lazed about the house until we had to go out for Euan's 2nd birthday party.

The party was at another soft play centre. Daddy and Ellis had fun for a bit and then we went up into a little room where the kids had food and played games and Ellis and Euan won sleeping lions.

Rachael made a lovely cake which we all promptly scoffed down.

We went home after and straight into the bath and bed routine.

Sunday we had planned to go to the air show at Fairford. We were going to leave really early but the boys didn't wake up until 7:30am!

We had breakfast, packed up the car and left.

The traffic was horrendous so we didn't get into the show ground until 2 1/2 hours after leaving home!

We parked up, and I taped cotton wool over Leo's ears and tried to get Ellis to wear his ear plugs but he refused to. He didn't actually mind the noise though and seemed to really enjoy it.

I first of all had Leo in the sling and Ellis was walking with Daddy. In this video you can see we were also not wearing our coats yet. Shortly after I took this, it started to rain, not just a little bit, but a lot. Leo and Ellis were both put in the buggy and we made a run for it.

We tried to go to a family enclosure but didn't really realise how far away it was, so we settled on going into the information centre in the middle of the runway, so that I could feed Leo, Rob could feed Ellis his packed lunch and then we could change both of their nappies before finally being able to go outside to see some aeroplanes.

The rain stopped for a small amount of time, but even though I joked about sun burn in this video, I didn't realise it would actually be true!

Rob and I grabbed a burger and I fed Leo again, before we stood in a field, cold and wet watching a few things fly past us. Unfortunately the wind speed was too high at one point that the helicopters had to land.

We were so cold and wet that we decided to go home before the finish. Unfortunately 5,000 other people had the same idea so we made our way back to the car, occasionally laughing at how wet we were getting.

Ellis cried the whole way back to the car as he didn't want to be in the buggy. If I could have fitted in there I would have as the weather was horrible! He did eventually go to sleep but he woke straight up when we put him in the car. He wasn't a happy bunny after having so little sleep that day, but he did enjoy the planes.

We eventually got home, shoved some food into Ellis, bathed him and put the boys to bed.

Monday I was shattered! So we just stayed in all day and had a lazy day. Luckily Ellis was quite happy to be in too and we had lots of fun together.

I took some pictures of Leo and a small video just to keep a record.

I apologise for the lack of content in this entry but my heart just wasn't in it for some reason. Probably too tired really. Hopefully do better next time.
