Day 4 - The Lake

The boys were up at 7 which wasn't too bad. Rob got up first but then very quickly went back to bed and I took over.

I got everything ready and then the boys and I sat around waiting for Daddy to get breakfast and dressed.

We finally managed to get out and went for a look around the complex.

The boys loved it down by the lake. Leo, as soon as his feet hit the sand, took off towards the water and I just managed to catch him by the waters edge. Crazy kid.

The boys had fun in the park area and I sat feeding Oscar.

Oscar was getting a bit bored just sat in his buggy so we went for a lovely walk around the lake.

We stopped in the Sports Cafe for food but after a disagreement, we quick footed it back to the holiday home for sandwiches instead.

Leo had a nap and Ellis was bored so Rob took him swimming and I said I would catch up with Leo once he woke up.

I ended up waking him and he shoved his lunch down and we raced to the pool. Rob was quite surprised to see us so quickly.

Ellis was doing amazing with his swimming. He had started to wear the life jackets that are provided and he was actually swimming along on his own. As I type this (way in the future) he is doing fantastic with his swimming so looking back is quite difficult. At that time he was still really quite scared of water and being splashed but was making huge progress with just a few days of swimming on our holiday. I really think it was one of the best things we could have done to improve his confidence. He even went down a few slides with Rob and I which was great.

Time ran on and we were soon rushing back down the very long wooden path to the lake. We managed to make it to their messy play with 1 minute to spare.

Oscar slept in the buggy for most of it which was great as I got to take pictures and play along too. It was fantastic for Leo as he rarely gets the opportunity to have messy play, and boy did he love it!

Playing with Jelly

After the playtime we finally managed to have dinner in the Sports Cafe, which turned out to be really nice. The food was good and the boys enjoyed the little soft play area.

After a very busy day with lots of play, swimming and walking, the boys were totally shattered and very quickly fell into a deep sleep.

Oscar on the other hand sat up watching TV with us until 10:30pm. He was just so windy and really struggled to lie down to go to sleep. It really was quite hard but he did generally speaking, sleep through to 5/6am so I at least got a block of sleep.

The next day we were going home but was determined to get a full day of fun in first.
