Fathers Day 2011

I forgot to post this cute video of Oscar on the 15th June, so I'm putting it here too.

So getting back to the actual day, which was Father's Day 2011. We had arranged to see both Dads, and Mums at a lovely country estate for a picnic and walk around in the lovely weather. It's great for the boys to be outside and not sat at a table having a meal, so I thought it was a rather lovely idea.

We had a really, really nice time. We met up in the car park around 12:30pm then had a little walk around some flower gardens before sitting on a bank in the shade to have our picnic. There was a little market selling food and drinks so we took it in turns to go and buy some stuff. I bought some cake which was yummy.

Mum and I always mess around taking pictures of each other. We are pretty much the only ones that take pictures too. Our new thing seems to be taking a picture of each other, taking a picture of each other, if that makes sense.

We then decided to ask someone to take a picture of us together for a change but I can now see why we are better off behind the cameras.

After the picnic we carried on walking and actually ended up doing a very long, hot walk up a hill where we sat for a drink and ice lolly in a tiny cafe.

love this one. Leo's hair is cool!

We then decided to take a "short cut" down the hill, through the woods. The path was very used, dried mud, with lots of dips and rocks sticking out. It was narrow, overgrown and the buggy couldn't of had a child in it so they had to walk or be carried. We made it down though and sat in the shade of a tree, me feeding Oscar, the boys having a snack and all of us having a nice relaxing chat.

We said our goodbyes and everyone went home. Needless to say the boys fell asleep on the way home. Leo woke up and had some dinner but Ellis was zonked so we just put him to bed at 6pm.

Nipples Mummy!

Oscar was chilling on his mat.

I then decided to give him his first go in the Bumbo.

He seemed to be okay with it and I was able to get some really good giggles out of him. By the time the camera was out though he had hiccups so couldn't really do it anymore.

The next day we just tried to chill out and take it easy. Oscar managed that very cutely at my Mum's house when we went there for dinner.

We had a hairdresser appointment so we all had a trim before Mum cooked us some pizza.

Mum was out early that night so I went home to bath the boys and I managed to get Oscar in bed by 9:30pm, which was a good night!

The following day I totally forgot about Leo's gym class so we just stayed at home chilling out.

I fed the kids in the garden which was nice, and did lots of washing.

Oscar wouldn't go to bed in the evening on his own so I went to bed early which was probably a good thing as Leo woke up screaming in the night so I eventually brought him in with me. Ellis then woke a further 3 times having a bad dream so I went in to sleep with him, but Leo woke at 5:15am worried about where he was so started screaming for Mummy, which woke up Oscar and then Ellis. So not much sleep had at all and all 3 boys woke more than once during the night. Not good.

  1. I love this blog, what a great day we had, thank you love for bringing it all back to me, love the pictures that were taken, in years to come, they will make you smile!! and have a little tear too perhaps.

We must do more days like this, time goes too fast and we forget to get on and have a nice time. It doesn't need to cost loads of money, I think the simple things, are the ones we remember the most. Keep up the good work. Loads of love Mum x x x
