Leo has been quite a tricky kid to feed. He doesn't really like being spoon fed so I tend to just put food on his tray and he picks at it. The only problem is, is that I can't feed him things like soup. So I've been trying to get him used to having a plate in front of him.
On Saturday we met up with my family and a few extras at the Aquarium in town. Dad had bought us a family ticket and I was really looking forward to it and was getting Ellis all excited about it too.
On our way there we popped into the shop to pick up our silver jewellery we had made with the boys finger prints in. We both loved them. I originally saw the idea at Vivien's baby club group but 2 of my friends, Sarah (mummy group) and Sarah (AB group) both have similar things and I always liked the look of them.
We arrived in the car park on time and I put Leo in the sling and Ellis was walking. Leo is seriously getting too heavy for the sling now so I might change to my fabric one where I can put him on my hip or back instead. I will need to practice with it for a bit though.
At the front desk we were all given stamps on our hands and Ellis couldn't take his eyes off of his until we walked in to see the first tank. This video includes some other things we saw.
They had loads of interesting ways of seeing the fish. One window went right into the tank. Plus they had a tunnel too which was really good, and a bit where you could stick your head up into the middle of a tank. We all had a go at that one.
They had quite open displays too with a nice walk through. I let Leo out the sling for a bit but he fell over and smashed his face into the floor. Not a pretty sight.
We saw lots of interesting things and everyone seemed to love it.
We stopped to listen to a talk about the marine tank which was really interesting but Leo was getting bored so I didn't hear all of it.
Just before you exit the aquarium there is a huge tank with a very large viewing window and we all sat there for ages just watching the fish. It was so relaxing.
We went outside and ate lunch in the cafe before we went into the Imax for a showing about animals in the sea. Unfortunately the picture quality wasn't that great and everyone started to nod off after such an exciting morning. Ellis had literally just woken up when his picture was taken but Leo slept through the whole film.
I took the boys home after and Rob ran home.
When he got back, I had a nap as Leo had got me up at 5:30am! I then got myself showered and ready to head down to see my sister-in-law to be for a pre hen weekend get together. Confused?
I said goodbye to everyone and headed out to pick up sister-in-law Karen. I arrived on time and we chatted all the way to Nicky's house (sister-in-law to be).
The house was already filled with people as the men were there to watch the footie and the girls were there to sit in the garden and discuss fancy dress costumes for the hen weekend.
We then walked down the road to a local pub where I had diet coke as I was driving home that night. Anyway, long story short, I got the bus into town, had lots of shots, beer, and danced the night away in the strangest pub ever! We stopped for a burger on the way to the taxi rank and eventually fell in at 2:30am. I slept on some cushions on the floor of my niece's bedroom and in the morning Nicky cooked us a lush breakfast before I drove slowly home.
I had the best reception when I got back. The boys were so excited and I had tons of hugs and kisses. I loved it! I haven't stayed away from home, or away from the boys since Ellis was 8 months old so a break was way overdue. I really enjoyed myself and I'm looking forward to the actual weekend away although I will miss my 3 boys so much.
I spent most of Sunday recovering slowly and trying to get the house in order.
In the afternoon Rob popped out to get some running shoes and when he got back we went to my Mum and Dad's for dinner as they had invited us up.
Mum and Dad put on a giant spread of delicious food and I ate so much I could hardly move.
The boys played really nicely and I bathed them there so that I could just put them straight in bed when I got home.
Rob stayed behind to do some more computer work and was going to run home but it was raining and was too late anyway.
Last night Lucy came over and we watched The Blind Side and chatted the night away, while stuffing our faces with popcorn and chocolate fingers.
Today Leo had a booster jab. It wasn't nice but I gave him a drink and that stopped him crying. I hope he doesn't have any side effects. He has his MMR in 4 weeks and that will be it for a while.
We went to Naomi and Iestyn's house again for Mummy afternoon and Leo eventually fell asleep on me. This did mean though that I couldn't watch Ellis as closely as I would have liked and I think he got up to no good. Everyone survived though and we left at 5.
I made the boys lamb shank and vegetables for dinner with gravy. Ellis picked at his and Leo refused to eat it unless I gave him the bowl. I stuck it down in front of him but most of it ended up on him and the floor.
After a good bath and a few poems, the boys were in bed, I showered, cleared up and did this blog.
I've decided that Wordless Wednesday is going to be any photo or video I come across that I like and will pretty much be in date order as I go through my photo albums. Any questions on any of them just let me know.
That's it for now.
