Illegal

Sorry for the long delay in posting an entry but there are 2 reasons why. One is that due to the new TV being in place I have been sitting on my arse watching rubbish until 11pm and then being too tired the next day, and secondly cause I just haven't been in the mood for it.

The blog was always just going to be for fun and I never wanted it to be a chore. So when I don't feel like doing it, I don't.

I also want to change the style of it a bit. I find it quite hard to log everything I do for every day, especially when I have a bit of a gap. Since starting the blog back in October 2007 I have done 338 entries and I have written about each and every day. I may change that slightly and just summarise what has been going on rather than listing every activity. Plus regular readers should by now know what I pretty much do each day with regards to groups etc.

So with that in mind, the last few days have been reasonably busy.

On Friday I was pulled over by the police as my number plates were illegal. It took the policeman 15 minutes to tell me what I had to do, what he was going to do, and to actually issue the ticket. I was quite calm about it all and was just really annoyed that I hadn't gone straight to the Big Stars class rather than going home first as I would have missed them.

We were late for the class so didn't get to sit by Ellis' friends. Then Leo filled his nappy and I had left the changing bag in the car. Naomi thankfully understood what was going on so came over to sit with Ellis while I ran out to sort Leo. Ellis didn't like it at first but he seemed fine when I got back. I was exhausted!

The last 2 weeks or so Leo hasn't been sleeping all that well. I'm not sure what has changed but he can sometimes wake as much as 4 times a night and at the very least 2 times. Last night he woke at 12:30am, 2am, 4am and then 6am. Not a good night but I didn't feel too bad today which was nice. He is also quite hard to settle down in the evening. I start feeding him usually around 7pm and depending on how tired he is, he can feed up to 45 minutes. I then wind him and put him down pretty much asleep but awake enough that he would have to settle himself back down. He sometimes goes to sleep fine but then wakes up 15 minutes later screaming! I usually top him up and wind him again and go through that a few times. Sometimes I don't get to come back downstairs until nearly 9pm, which is another reason why the blog has suffered.

Leo has recently found his voice and is real chatterbox. It is so cute and I love spending as much time as possible talking to him.

Saturday morning I had breakfast in bed which was lovely. I love eating at the moment and the chance to stay in bed at the same time was amazing. I had a lovely lie in to try and recover a bit. Thank you hubby.

Saturday afternoon Rob took Ellis out to do some car stuff (purchase legal number plates) and I used the time to go food shopping. Leo fed for ages before we left and then just as I was leaving he filled his nappy. Then on arrival at the shop he filled it again. Then I realised the post collection in Sainsbury's had already gone so I had to walk to the nearest post box first before I could even start the shopping! It was really busy in the store and I didn't really enjoy it.

Sunday we went to Shauna's 7th birthday party. I can't believe she is 7 already! I can still remember finding out that she had arrived and popping around to see her on my way back home.

It was a swimming party and when we arrived Leo was sound asleep so I waited for a bit before getting in.

After swimming we sat in the bar/cafe and did the birthday cake and ate some lunch. Chloe and Kamron who both usually hate the birthday song and cheer were amazing and didn't mind it at all.

Sunday afternoon we had a surprise visit from Nanny and Grandad George and Uncle Dave. Ellis was well excited to see them and spent time reading and play fighting.

Mike and She (Nanny and Grandad George) said they thought I was a brilliant Mummy and really sang my praises which is great! It's good to hear from others that you are doing a good job, especially when you put so much effort into it all. Hubby is also very appreciative of what I do.

I had already decided to cook a meal for the family so while Ellis was occupied and Leo was being held I was able to get the dinner on. I cooked a casserole, with mash and peas. It was yummy to say the least.

Ellis had a poo accident on Monday afternoon which was a bit of a shame but it was promptly cleared up by my Mum. It was actually my fault as I had forgotten the Thomas seat and I was also distracted on the phone at one point so didn't see the signs. Ah well, other than that he is doing great.

This morning Leo had some tummy time and he is doing really well with holding his head up. I can see that he really wants to get moving and I think he may be an early crawler, or at least earlier than Ellis.

I dropped Ellis off at Sharon and Sophie's house so that I could go to the doctors with Leo. First of all we saw the health visitor and he was weighed. He is 14lb 10 1/2 oz! Which is still on the 50 percentile line which is good.

Then we had to see the nurse for his jabs. He had 3 today and it was pleasant. He was crying as I lifted him out of the car seat so I knew it wouldn't be good. He didn't mind the first one but the following 2 were not good. He was still crying as I pulled out of the surgery car park!

We had a lovely time at Sharon's house and came home and had a lovely evening too. Ellis ate his dinner nicely and then watched a bit of telly, after helping to clear up. We then had a relaxing bath time followed by story and bed. Leo didn't settle until 8:15pm.

I have to do my other blog now so best leave it there.
