Ellis has been dry now for 2 days. That includes nap times and night times. He still wears pull-ups when he is asleep or when I think he may sleep but he hasn’t done a wee in one. I’m so proud of him. I don’t want to count my chickens but I would say he is pretty much done. He asks to use the loo, uses it often, can pull his trousers and pants down, and can put his pants back on again after. He uses the toilet with no support seat and hasn’t used the potty in a few days. He has done amazingly well and I know it was very tough for a couple of days but overall he has made it an easy job. I’m not confident enough yet to put him in pants for sleep time so will give him a bit longer for that. I also need to work on getting him to hold it longer but I’m sure that will come in time.
Yesterday was mad! We had so much planned and it was an early start. We were going to be out of the house from 8:30am until gone 7pm so I had to take everything! I had a changing bag, accident kit, potty, Thomas seat, Leo’s mat and chair, packed lunch for Ellis and then dinner plate, drink and bibs, snacks, magazines to give back to Dad, bath time stuff and my handbag.
First stop was my Mum and Dad’s so that Ellis and I could get our hair cut. I had the ends off and Ellis had a tidy up. He didn’t like it at all so sat on my lap the whole time. I was covered in hair and it annoyed me all day.
While we were having our hair done, Leo had a go in this thing that holds him up with toys in front of him. Not sure what it is called but here are some videos.
Grandad went up the field and we stayed behind to help Nanny to sort out all the toys. They have loads of different toys which are stored in stackable boxes. They had become a bit mixed up so Nanny sorted them all out.
We then left to go to meet our AB group, back near our house, for the afternoon. Ellis and Leo fell asleep and so did I nearly as we were sat in traffic for ages.
I had a great time with my group. Both the boys were well behaved and seemed to get on with everyone else and Sophie put on a lovely spread, including a mountain of cakes which of course are my favourite at the moment. I still haven’t got rid of my sweet tooth from the pregnancy.
We then got in the car and went back to Nanny and Grandad’s house for dinner. We had fajitas which are delicious and I scoffed 3.
It is so nice just having my parents to ourselves. The boys get loads of attention and I get to chill out, even if that is sat feeding Leo.
I had a shower and then helped, only a little bit, to do bath time. Mum does most of it while I am sat topping Leo up for the night. Ellis has story time with Nanny and Grandad and then we bundle into the car to go back home.
I put the boys straight to bed and that’s where they stayed until 7am this morning.
Leo woke at 1:39am to be exact and I couldn’t get him to sleep again. It took ages and I was really struggling to stay awake. I fed him, winded him, fed him lying down, winded him, rocked him, stuck his thumb in his mouth for him, tried giving him a cuddle, nothing worked. I shut the bedroom door and he cried it out for about 10 minutes before going off again.
We had a lazy morning around the house and Ellis had a long late nap followed by late lunch.
Leo wasn’t himself today. Pretty miserable for most of it in fact and I couldn’t work out what was wrong. Maybe he isn’t feeling well at the moment. I’m certainly not so maybe he has the same.
Leo had mat time, tummy time, door swing and Bumbo time and when I thought he was tired enough I put him down in his cot for a nap. Ellis, from about 2 months old, would nap during the day in his cot so I am hoping I can do the same with Leo. He didn’t like it at first but he soon went off.
I don’t know if you could see in the video but Ellis was using his pillow as a cover and his cover as a pillow. Strange boy.
Rob didn’t make it home in time for Little Stars which was a shame as it was really hard work. Ellis wanted the toilet twice and Leo wasn’t happy to sit in his car seat so I had to carry him around the whole the time. I had a work out too!
There was a difference this week though. We didn’t realise it but the group has been changed to a Big Stars class. This is for 2 ½ to 4 year olds so was a bit more structured and the apparatus was for older children. Gone are the stupid box of balls and some coloured pads to walk on and the rocking horse which Ellis was rather upset about. So upset in fact that he asked Steve, the teacher, to put it out.
Sally and I didn’t really like it to start with which wasn’t helped by the fact that the rest of our gang are on holiday. Naomi, Iestyn, Charlotte, Faith, Stuart and Sophie were missing.
Anna and Ellis fitted in well and seemed to really enjoy themselves.
The evening was pretty routine. We had dinner, the boys messed around and then I sat with the boys reading while Rob drilled some holes for our new television.
Bath time was good fun and Leo went down really well. As I type this he hasn’t woken up for his double feed yet and I hope he doesn’t. It is 8:46pm and he usually wakes before 8pm for a top up, so fingers crossed.
Going to play my new computer game now as I don’t have Internet to upload the blog yet. I typed this in a word document first.
UPDATE 22:45 - Leo hasn't woken up yet, Ellis is asleep, Rob is still sorting out the T.V and I'm about to play my game for 15 more minutes before going to bed. I can't wait!
