The next day, Rob went to do some work for my Dad, and I took the boys, with my family to a model exhibition. It was day out on a sunny, but chilly day.
Ellis had lots of fun, running around with his cousins, controlling a boat and building a model aircraft. He is obsessed with Concorde and the Vulcan at the moment. Leo struggled with some of the things, like the noisy fast cars but generally was quite happy. Oscar was as good as always, sat in the buggy. He did moan a bit at one point but I think he was just a bit hungry, with a dirty nappy.
Here are the photos and videos from the day out.
Mum and Kate came in our car and Ellis went in with Grandad and his cousins, which he was really excited about. It was nice for me too to have some girl company.
On the way home, Leo fell asleep straight away, shortly followed by Oscar, (after a quick nappy changing stop).
We went back to Nanny and Grandad's after as Rob was still there working. We stayed until bed time really, when I rushed home, bathed the boys and got them to bed. I spent the whole evening, until about 10:30pm clearing up the house, it was a tip! I treated myself to a Chinese after.
The first Monday off school was actually reasonably relaxing, even though it was quite busy. First stop in the morning was back to Nanny's house for the boys to have their hair cuts. Oscar went for a nap and slept really well so we ended up staying for lunch.
We left there and went straight to Jolly Babies, and unfortunately I had forgotten my camera. I wasn't impressed with myself but didn't have time to go home. The boys were all really well behaved and had a lovely time. Leo was covered in creosote though as he had rubbed himself against a fence, nice!
We chilled at home for a bit before heading out for Ellis' dance lesson, which he loves doing. I did a bit of shopping while we waited and Leo was a really good boy and sat in the buggy the whole time. I bumped into Sharon and Sophie while I was in the shop and I couldn't believe how much Sophie has changed! She has really grown up, got taller, thinned out, her hair and face has changed too. Strange. I had a little natter with Shazza before picking Ellis up to go home for yet another bath and bed routine.
Now Tuesday was the total opposite. Quite a stressful day and lots of unhappy moments, mainly my fault too.
I was up twice in the night so asked Rob to do the morning shift, which he did thankfully and then I took over when he went to work.
I had an unpleasant and long conversation with household insurance person who wound me up no end and then Leo was really touchy all day. I was trying to do too much in a short space of time.
Leo's gym class didn't go well. He was tired and hungry and just wanted to go home but I had to go to the shops after so obviously that prolonged the agony and Leo's screaming just got worse, causing more stress. Not his fault though. I should have just gone/stayed at home but I always feel like I need to drag them to their classes, especially as they are paid for.
Back at home it all kicked off before dinner time and I couldn't wait to get them into the bath.
They had a lovely bath time and were really good, which some how made the whole day seem okay.
Leo did some drawing while he was waiting for me to finish up with Oscar. He told me it was a hedgehog.
Quite good I thought.
Wednesday morning the boys didn't wake up until 7:30am as I had amended their clock to show the sun at this time. It worked a treat! I was hoping it would work all the time but it was a one off.
We chilled at home for the first part of the morning, the food shopping arrived, we had lunch then I took them all to a local sports centre for Ellis to play football.
While Ellis was playing I took Leo and Oscar out in the buggy to the local shops and bank as they were getting a bit bored sat watching.
Rob came home early and everyone had a lovely time playing and messing around. I tried to capture Oscar using the walker but he is easily distracted and not that bothered about trying to walk.
The next day we went back to the sports centre so that Ellis could do a couple of hours of arts and crafts. This left me with time to take Leo and Oscar swimming.
We were in a new pool so it was all a bit different but it was great too as Leo had to actually stay in the main pool as there wasn't a little paddling pool like at the pool we usually go to.
He made a friend, who splashed a lot, and he really tried hard to float around and didn't mind getting splashed. He did really well. Oscar loved it as usual.
We had lunch at the sports centre and then back at home Leo and Oscar napped, Ellis chilled in front of the TV and I went on my computer for a bit. I really needed to relax, it had been quite a tiring morning having lots of fun!
Once everyone was awake, we went up to my Mum and Dad's house for dinner. It was manic to say the least and I was feeling rather stressed. I don't even really know why it was so bad, and maybe it was just me, but it wasn't very relaxing.
Friday morning Rob did the early as I was up twice again in the night with a teething Oscar, and then went back to bed after giving the boys their breakfast.
We had a lazy start to the day but then met up with Lucy, Craig, Ashlee and Shauna to go to a little park with animals, a land train and a lovely cafe.
It was quite a long drive but we made it and ate our packed lunches first before having a walk around. Here are the pictures and videos from our day.
We stopped for a cuppa to warm up before making our way home.
Leo and Oscar napped when we got back and then Rob took Ellis swimming. He used his goggles this week and got on really well.
Afterwards they went to the pub for some food. It was some great Father and Son bonding time and plus Ellis ate a turkey burger and a huge mound of carrots! Ellis loved it and hasn't stopped going on about it since!
Rob was feeling rather tired in the evening and went to bed before 9pm which meant I had the evening to myself, blogging.
The start of the weekend was lazy, lazy, lazy. Saturday was a pyjama day for me and the boys, just playing on the Xbox, ipad, drawing, playing lots of games. So, actually the day wasn't lazy but we didn't go out.
Daddy had a lie in and then went to work at the warehouse for Grandad for the rest of the day and night! He got home at 5am!
