Big Boys Bed

The fun never stops!  This holiday has been brilliant so far.  Yesterday, in the morning we went back to the sports centre yet again so the boys could have a trampoline lesson.  The lesson was 45 minutes long and there were 9 children sharing one trampoline.  It was a nightmare.  Ellis and Leo kept trying to get on the trampoline and Oscar was just screaming to get out of the buggy or to crawl off.  It was very hard work and the boys didn't have very long actually doing any jumping.

Straight after we rushed out to meet up with my mummy friends, and kids in the park.  It had been raining though so they said they were in the library but once I arrived I could see that they had gone so moved on to the park to find them all there.

The kids all had a play and the Mums tried to have a chat.

Anna and Ellis
This is Anna and Ellis when they were a little bit younger.  Click here.

We all went to Sainsburys cafe for lunch but I had brought a packed lunch for my boys and Leo pretty much ate his running around the park.  Ellis finished his off before the others had even received their hot dinners so I knew I would have to leave a bit earlier than the others as I couldn't entertain them while the others were eating.

At 2pm Uncle Mark, Auntie Nicky, Megan and Elin arrived for a visit.  They bought the boys some lovely eggs and Oscar's birthday present, which we opened later on.  It was really nice to see them, especially as Ellis had only said that morning that he wanted to see Megan and Elin. Result!

On Wednesday, I walked into the play room and found this.

Ellis went to an Easter party with his dance instructor, Aimee.  They played games, danced, ran around, made things and ate sweets.  I think he had lots of fun as he was totally shattered after.

While he was doing that, I went around the shops, bought Leo some new shoes, went to the doctors to book Oscar's MMR appointment, went around Sainsburys, totally forgot that I hadn't fed Leo so went to a cafe for an expensive sandwich and packet crisps, met up with my Mum who happened to be shopping over my way, picked Ellis up and went home.  Phew!

Leo loving his brother. Sometimes he loves him a bit too much.

Oscar was 13 months old on the 10th April.  I totally forgot to take face pictures or pictures of the 3 of them together! Very sad about that but not a lot I can do now.  This is what I've managed to get of Oscar.

Leo at 13 months...

 ...and Ellis.

I took these tonight and for some reason the picture quality is terrible as is the actual picture of the boys! (21st April).

Ellis had a whole day playing tennis.  I dropped him off at 9:30 and picked him up at 3pm.  He had a brilliant day and I struggled to get him off the court at the end.  I love that he loves sport.  I love sport and I didn't think he would be sporty for some reason, but he is really loving all of it.  He is very competitive, just like me, so that helps.

I chilled at home with the boys and after picking Ellis up we went to my Mum and Dad's for dinner.

Mum had cooked a lovely chicken casserole which had quite strong flavours and Mum thought Ellis wouldn't eat any of it.  One bowl and half a french stick later, Mum was left quite surprised.  As was I mind you ;o)

For afters Leo had an ice lolly but his hair kept getting in the way.  Mum found a clip.

That evening Rob and I booked our family holiday which is only 5 days in CenterParcs but we are all really excited.  This year my Mum and Dad are coming with us too which will be nice for a change and hopefully will mean Rob and I can have some time on our own.  It will be great to have the extra company and also the help with the boys.

I was feeling ill before bed.  I was bloated, my dinner was repeating on me and I couldn't finish a cup of tea, which is unheard of!  I went to bed and tossed and turned for a bit before Leo screamed out.  I put him on the loo and went back to bed for 2 minutes before he called me again.  Normally I wouldn't take him back to the toilet but something wasn't right and as soon as I got in the bathroom he said "Sicky bad Mummy!".  I bent him over the toilet and he vomited.  Bless him, he said he was finished so I put him back to bed with a towel as a sheet.

My night was bad.  I tossed and turned, groaned and fought the urge to be sick, ran in and out to Leo every hour who sat up, puked (in a bowl mostly) and went back to sleep.  I didn't sleep and was up before 7 with Oscar.

While Oscar's food was heating up I had to wake Rob up as the fight was over and I needed to be sick too.  Between vomits I called out to Rob that I couldn't look after the kids like this and that he would need to stay home.  I emptied out my stomach and went back to bed.

Poor Leo got up and vomited some bile and then seemed to make a very quick recovery.  I on the other hand was very fragile all day.  I felt like I had a hangover and it wasn't good.

By the afternoon Ellis realised that we weren't going out and was quite upset about it.  We had planned a day out with Nanny, Auntie Katie, Chloe and Kamron but we couldn't go.  Ellis just played on the Xbox, Leo on the iPad and me in and out of bed, helping Rob to watch the babies.  Good times.

Uncle Dave came over to watch the boys so that Rob could do some work and I took Ellis swimming on my own which is always lovely as I get to actually watch him.  There was only 3 in the class so he got to go back and forth loads and he even went in the big pool for a swim with a float and he went so fast!

After swimming we popped over to the shops to buy him some new tennis shoes and he wanted to have a go on a little ride.  I thought it was well funny!

Thankfully I had a lie on Saturday and got up at 9:45am feeling okay.

On the agenda for the day was yet more swimming.  This time Leo made it, as did Katie, Chloe and Kamron.  Again the baby pool was closed so we all got into the big pool, which was cold but not freezing.

The kids all had loads of fun, Ellis used his new float the entire time and no one held him, but soon (nearly an hour) Leo turned blue and Mum was cold so they got out and I stayed in for a bit longer with Ellis.

In the pool was my midwife I had when I gave birth to Leo.  I was so sure it was her but couldn't work up the courage to stalk her around the pool and ask her.  The more I think of it, I know it was her, but I have no idea what I would have said anyway.

On the way home we stopped in Mum's house for a cup of tea and we watched the Grand National run which was exciting but sad too as a horse that escaped before the race started, fell and broke his leg.  If only he had been lame when they caught him, he wouldn't have even run in the race. :o(

When I got home I found that Rob had done a few jobs that I had asked him to do.  It made me so happy and it was only small things.  He had put up 2 pictures and a hook in Oscar's room and had bought and put up a bigger shoe cupboard.

Sunday morning and I was back on the early shift although Rob gets up just before 9am to take Ellis to his tennis lesson.

Once Ellis was home I sat him down and we made a start on his Easter Holiday diary.  Bad Mummy  should have done it days ago but I kept forgetting to print the pictures for it.  He worked really hard on it though.

Oscar had another go at feeding himself, lunch and dinner, which was pretty much a complete disaster again.

Lunch

Dinner

I did lots of work around the house, getting organised and tidy and it made me feel so happy that I was literally skipping around the house at one point.  I'm a little bit crazy I think.

Leo was very quiet all day and a bit lethargic so I thought that it would be a good time to take the side off of his cot and make it into a big boys bed.  He has slept in a single bed before but only when we have been away.  He seemed quite happy about it at the time but he was soon asking for the side to be put back on.

Leo did some writing for us and then told us what it said! He has started to read a few words which is crazy!  I ask him each day just in case it's a fluke but he still does it, amazing!

Back to the normal routine next week.  I'm excited and looking forward to getting back to our groups but also quite sad as I've had a lovely Easter break and the boys have been brilliant. Think we are going to miss Ellis being home.  They fight obviously but nothing major and we have done some lovely things together.  Thank you hubby for working so hard to pay for us to do all those things. x
