Our day out was a great success. A bit chilly but everyone had fun and we were there until quite late.
The boys are always finding my cameras and taking sneaky pictures. Sometimes Ellis actually uses his own camera and he likes to set it on a timer to take family pictures. It's great fun and sometimes we do actually get a family picture (of sorts) out of it.
The Wii is still used quite a bit in our house. It's great because they are actually moving rather than sat in front of a screen, like on the iPad. I try and mix things up with regards to how much they use computers and I try to get them doing other things too and we quite often have a no computer day, which they have become used to now and generally don't moan about either.
Now, I know I love Christmas, but listening to Christmas music in February is just a little bit too crazy, even for me.
Leo is doing really well at his preschools. Both schools have said that they think he is really bright and sometimes can't believe what he comes out with. He loves computers, loves numbers and is doing very well at his phonic sounds (thanks to Ellis). He can recognize most numbers, even 128 the other day! He knows tons of shapes, including pentagon, hexagon and octagon, and can tell you how many sides they have. He even says a circle doesn't have any sides. He has started to read a few small words, mostly by fluke I think, but if he keeps going the way he is, he will be reading a bit before starting school.
One of the schools he goes to has a website, so I stole a copy of the pictures with Leo in.
At the end of February, Cousin Charley had her 11th birthday and we were all invited to her house for some nibbles and obviously a bit of cake.
Ellis' school sends out lots of e-mails, followed quickly by a text to say they have sent you an e-mail. There is always so much information and they never give very much notice on things that are coming up. One being fancy dress days. For World Book Day they had to dress up as a character from their favourite book and I was given 5 days notice! That seems like a lot of time but Ellis wanted to go as the Highway Rat and I wanted to put some effort in for a change.
I dragged Mum out shopping with me and I found some girls boots, some leggings, a size 16 white shirt, a brown hat and a sword. Pretty good going I thought. The hat needed to be painted black, and a feather added, I wanted to make a tail, the shirt needed serious adjustment, I needed a cape and I wanted to make the boots look longer. For all this I would need help. The results will be in the next blog. :o)
