Adventures

The weekend started off with a bump! That was me falling out the back door, whoops. I had a bump on my head but I was fine. I then slipped on the kitchen floor and hit my mouth which actually hurt more than falling out the door.

After my nap Mummy, Daddy and I went out on our bikes for a family ride. It was really good fun and I loved my trailer. The only problem was, that it doesn't contain a proper chair so I kept slumping down and hitting my head from side to side.

We went quite a long way along the cycle path and everyone looked at us which was nice. We had a quick drink stop too, me included.

The motion of the ride makes me very sleepy and with the heat coming in the roof, it wasn't long before I was back to sleep.

Mummy and Daddy took it in turns to pull me along and I think they both enjoyed it too. Now Mummy and I can go out on our own during the week.

Sunday morning, Mummy had a lie in and Daddy and I sat out in the garden reading books. Daddy isn't like Mummy and didn't think to do any video or pictures.

Mummy on the other hand, when she got up, took yet more pictures of me! I think she may have a bit of a problem. I don't mind though, in fact I like to show off a bit.

In the afternoon we went to Nanny and Granddad Georges' house for a barbeque. I had a really nice time trying to find Pebbles (the cat), watching fish, having cuddles and listening to eveyone chat.

As we were sat in the garden, Mummy put loads of white, thick, sticky cream all over me. Mummy had some left on her hands and decided to give my hair a helping hand.

When we got home we went straight upstairs for bath and bed. It was so hot in my room though that Mummy didn't bother putting me in my sleeping bag, put my fan on and left my bedroom door wide open.

I wonder how many photos Mummy will take tomorrow?

Pooh Sandwiches!

Friday is always a busy day. I was up at 6:30am so Mummy took a while to wake up.

After breakfast I was put down for my morning nap a little bit earlier than normal as we leave the house at 10:40 to get to the swimming baths.

Swimming was really good today. I was dunked as normal but I don't really mind. I went in my float too so that Mummy could have a bit of a swim.

Lunch was spaghetti bolognese with Mummy's yogurt for desert.

I then had a nice play before my afternoon nap. I usually sleep for at least an hour in the afternoon but 20 minutes later, Mummy walks into my room to find me sat up in my bed. I wouldn't go back to sleep so I was brought downstairs.

Lots of playtime followed and I chased the vacuum around which was really good fun. I also did another picture.

I had my milk, not enough by the way, and then we were off in the car to Twinkling Stars.

This week I could crawl! Ha! It was so good, I just kept wandering off and Mummy had to come and grab me. I wouldn't go through the tunnel though so Mummy is going to have to work on that one.

Of course I saw all my friends today. It was really good to see Iestyn as we no longer see him on Tuesday afternoons as his Mummy has gone back to work. I am really lucky to have my Mummy with me everyday. I don't know if Mummy would agree.

I received 2 invites today! One from Iestyn and one from Sophie. I can't wait to go to their parties. They are having them at home which is really nice.

For dinner Mummy gave me some finger foods and sandwiches. I had a really good time playing with it all and trying to get it into my mouth, at the same time I might add.

The best thing was that my sandwiches were in the shape of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. How cool is that?

Daddy popped home to say hello and then he went back out again. Mummy gave me my bath, final feed and then put me to bed in my other set of pyjamas. I am sure a photo will follow tomorrow.

Speaking of photos, Mummy took a picture that Daddy liked and changed the colour of it. The results are on the right hand side. Please vote in the poll as to which one you prefer.

Recipes

Mummy thought it might be a nice idea to share some of the recipes that she is using, with you.

So here goes:

Cabbage Surprise

25g/1oz brown rice
75g/3oz cabbage, shredded
1 tomato, skinned, deseeded and chopped
a little margarine or oil
50g/2oz Cheddar cheese, grated

Cook the rice in water until quite soft (about 25 minutes). Steam the cabbage or boil in water until tender. Saute the tomato in a little margarine or oil, add the well-drained cabbage and continue to cook for a further 2 minutes. Stir in the grated cheese and cook over a low heat until all the cheese has melted. Mix the cabbage, tomato and cheese together with the cooked rice and chop it into small pieces.

Multicoloured Casserole

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 shallot, peeled and finely chopped
40g/1/1/2 oz red pepper, diced
100g/4oz frozen peas
100g/4oz frozen sweetcorn
120ml/4fl oz vegetable stock or water

Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the shallot and red pepper and cook for 3 minutes. Add the peas and sweetcorn, pour over the vegetable stock and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 3-4 minutes.

Mummy forgot to mention that she put together a yogurt for me too. Here is the directions for that:

Fruity Yoghurt

1 ripe peach stoned, skinned and chopped
1 small banana, peeled and chopped
300ml/10fl oz natural yoghurt
4 teaspoons maple syrup

Simply mix all the ingredients together and serve. Mash the fruit for younger babies.

The top 2 recipes can be frozen but the yoghurt has to be eaten or put in the fridge.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I will post some more soon.

10 Months

Well, I am 10 months old already! The time is going by really quickly and before you know it, I will be celebrating my 1st birthday.

Mummy always takes pictures of me once a month, well everyday actually but special ones on my monthly birthday. This morning I managed to headbutt the kitchen chair and gave myself an egg over my right eye.

Mummy took the photos anyway and here are some of her favourites. She did take over 100 and they can be seen if you click on the More Ellis slide show picture on the right hand side.

Mummy called the doctors in the morning about my ears. The doctors said to call again in 24 hours if I am still scratching them.

In the morning, Mummy did the blog and I just messed around with my various toys.

After my afternoon nap we went to see Nanny and Granddad George as Granddad turns 62 tomorrow and I wanted to give him his card and present that I picked.

I had loads of cuddles and some playtime.

I tried to find the cat, Pebbles, who was rubbing up against my feet, and even started to say the word!

I watched the fish too which I love doing.

I also tried some fresh pineapple for the first time. It was really nice.

Mummy and I left at rush hour and decided to go a different route home. It didn't take us too long to get back and Mummy was singing to me the whole time.

I had my dinner and then Uncle Dave come over to see me. We had fun playing music and then he helped Daddy to give me a bath.

Last night I showed Mummy the duck sign and started to say the word duck. For proof Mummy did a video.

Mummy fed me and put me to bed. I was so tired from all the visits.

Rug Rat

We had sing and sign in the morning which was really good. This time I was able to crawl off with the other babies and have fun doing things that I'm not supposed to do. I sat at the front of the class for ages just smiling at the teacher. I think she thought I was quite cute.

My crawling technique is very strange but at least it works. Mummy keeps calling me a rug rat. I'm also getting good with my shape sorter.

Tuesday was a busy one as always. Mummy had put me in my pyjamas again and so was able to take some pictures this time. Please excuse the runny nose.

Nanny Rennolds came with us to Jolly Babies which is always really nice and when we got home she read to me too.

After Nanny left I had lunch and a quick nap before going to see the health visitor to get weighed. I am now 23lb 3oz.

We then zoomed over to Sally and Anna's house for Mummy afternoon. It was chaos! We can all get around now so we were going everywhere. Mummy only just managed to stop me from destroying their fire. Also Mummy had forgotten my milk,my bottle and a muslin cloth so Sally let Mummy borrow Anna's stuff. Thank you Sally as I would of gone without.

Daddy tried to read to me in the evening but I think I was just too tired to do it properly.

Mummy did cooking all day Wednesday. She made a cabbage surprise, which is basically, cheese, tomato, rice, onion and cabbage. It was yummy though. She also made a multi-coloured casserole that just looked like a pile of veg really.

In the afternoon Mummy had to go to the doctors and in the end he said that Mummy has to go back on Monday to give some blood for some tests.

We then went into Lidl and bought a few things but the milk leaked all over the top of the buggy. Mummy spent ages cleaning it all up.

In the evening Daddy was ill so we didn't do very much. I was in bed quite early and Mummy went out to line dancing.

So Cute!

Saturday morning we all got up early for some reason. I think it might have to do with the fact that Daddy went to bed at 8 o'clock on Friday night. He has been staying up late working on stuff so I think it just all caught up with him.

After my lunch we went to see Wayne, Nic and Ella. It was the first time that I had seen a baby that small up close. I just pointed at her and made some noises which everyone thought was cute.

I don't think it was half as cute as Ella though. I don't think Mummy or Daddy wanted to put her down.

I think Uncle Wayne felt the same about me too.

For the rest of the day Mummy and Daddy were very busy doing things around the house. Mummy polished, vacuumed, tidied and sorted out the house and Daddy mowed the lawn and cleaned the downstairs windows.

Mummy and I went for a quick walk to the shops to pick up a glue stick so that Mummy could finish doing my scrap book.

We were supposed to go for our bike ride on Sunday but the weather was rubbish all day, so Mummy did yet more washing, cleaning and tidying and then managed to finish my scrapbook.

I had fun playing around with Daddy.

I also met a new friend, Louis, who Mummy and Daddy brought back from Disneyland Paris about 11 years ago. I wasn't too sure of him at first but I was soon pulling out his fur.

The rain continued in the afternoon and I was starting to get fed up of my normal toys so Mummy gave me lots of new ones.

I also practiced my walking with Mummy which was really good fun. I hope one day I have feet as big as hers.

I haven't been eating very well since I was ill on Thursday so Mummy thought that if I had the same dinner as them, at the same time, I might do a bit better. It didn't work though.

In the end, Mummy decided to let me have a go at feeding myself, seeing as I wasn't eating it anyway. It wasn't very successful but it was a start.

We didn't have dinner until 5:30pm so by the time I had finished and Mummy and Daddy had cleared up, it was time for my bath and bed.

Apparently I fell asleep with one leg tucked under me so Mummy had to sort me out. I didn't feel a thing.
