Blind

It was Mummy's turn for a lie in today so Daddy came to get me and fed me my breakfast which was apple.

We played downstairs until it was time for my mid morning nap. Daddy went back to bed with Mummy.

We didn't go out today so we just spent our time messing around with various toys and having cuddles.

In the afternoon, Daddy put up a black-out blind and my curtain tie backs in my room. I think they are hopeing I will sleep better if it is darker.

It was the usual routine for the evening.

What a very boring weekend.

Here is a picture of Mummy all ready for her Indian meal on Friday.

Walker

Mummy had a great time last night. The only thing was, was that I woke up and even after Daddy had given me some food, I still wouldn't go back to sleep. Daddy phoned Mummy and she came home and fed me again. I was soon tucked up in bed.

Mummy fed me my breakfast which was cereal and I ate it all up. It is so yummy.

I had a short nap and Mummy went back to bed with Daddy for a bit too. Daddy was having his lie in. Mummy is having hers tomorrow.

We played for a bit and then after lunch which was potato, carrot and squash, Mummy and I walked to Argos to get a baby walker that plays lots of music and things. I can't wait to play with it.

When we got back, I had some more food, and then played on my mat until I was put down for another nap. I didn't want to go to sleep so I did a lot of talking to myself instead. Mummy then came and took me back downstairs.

I played on my mat, read some books with Daddy and had some swinging time. It was then the usual routine for bedtime. I hope I sleep better tonight. Daddy is going out and I think Mummy might be getting an early night.

Great Escape

Wednesday we were at Sally and Anna's house for Mummies morning. We were a bit late as Mummy was trying to express some milk and I was having a nap. As soon as we arrived, the kettle was on and the biscuits were being eaten.

I had a lovely time playing with Anna, who was trying to grab my hair, and Iestyn who was doing really good push ups. Toby was asleep to start with but he was soon giggling away.

Lunch time arrived and everyone set about having something to eat, apart from me that is as Mummy didn't bring my food with her. This meant that we had to go home.

For lunch I had sweet potato and Mummy couldn't get it in my mouth quick enough. It is yummy.

In the afternoon, Mummy did some housework which made her feel happy. She doesn't like it when the house is messy and dirty. The thing is, it pretty much always is messsy and dirty as we are always out doing fun things.

In the evening Mummy went to line dancing and she learnt a dance done to the music of Piece Of Me by Britney Spears. Mummy is a huge fan so was really excited about it and practiced as soon as she got home!

Thursday is the stay at home day. Mummy finished off the housework, did 3 loads of washing and sorted out my food diary. What that is, is a list of dinners that I am having and Mummy puts it in the diary so that she never really has to think what to give me, she just has to get it ready.

I had pear for breakfast, and I was so eager for it that I pretty much had my head in the bowl! Mummy thought it was really funny but was pleased that I was enjoying it so much.

I was put in my chair without being strapped in for once, so I grabbed my chance, and tried to escape.

The landlord came over to fit a blind in the bathroom so Mummy and I went out to get some diesel and a few things at Sainsburys. We had the heating on in the house so Mummy didn't realise how flipping cold it was until we were at the shops. Mummy didn't even put a jumper on me and I was freezing! Needless to say, we weren't out for long before we were back home in the nice warm house.

Mummy and I played until Daddy came home from work and he gave me my bath, which was really nice.

Woke twice during the night, which isn't too bad. I still have a bit of cold so that isn't helping. Mummy still seems tired a lot of the time though. I don't think she is sleeping too well at the moment. Maybe it's because she just can't wait to see me in the morning.

For breakfast today I had peach and banana which Mummy had to make. She cooked it for a bit on the stove and then whizzed it up in the blender before giving it to me all nice and warm. I wasn't sure of it to start with but I soon ate loads. I made a really nice mess too.

I have recently learned how to clap and Mummy manged to get a video of me doing it. I think I look very cute.

After a short nap, we ventured out into the cold again to go swimming. I haven't been for 2 weeks so it was a bit of a surprise.

Nanny is away this weekend and Auntie Katie thought she might struggle with Chloe and Kamron on her own so it was just Mummy and I.

We entered the pool and it was freezing! We only stayed in for about 20 minutes, until my lips went blue and then we tried to have a shower but they were ice cold.

Back in the warm of my home I had some lunch. It was carrot and parsnip. I managed to get it everywhere! All up my arms, around my face, down my legs, all over the Bumbo and all over Mummy. Not really sure how much actually went into my mouth.

I had a nice nap in my bed and then I sat and looked at some books with Mummy before we got ready to go to Twinkling Stars.

Twinkling Stars was really good. We used this big multi coloured parachute. We sat on it while the Mummies made waves and then it was pulled over our heads. We had so much fun.

Faith was there with her Daddy as Charlotte was at work. Iestyn and Naomi, Sally and Anna were also there. Sophie and Sharon had just come back from Manchester so they didn't go.

At home I played on my mat for a bit before having a feed. Mummy tried to get me to go to sleep but I wouldn't so I just played in my cot while she had a shower and washed her hair.

Mummy is going out tonight with all the other Mummies for an Indian meal. I think she is looking forward to it but nervous too. I'm not sure how many different outfits she tried but I soon ran out of fingers and toes to count on.

Daddy gave me my bath and I was soon fed and in bed. I hope Mummy has a good time.

Tea Break

This morning for breakfast I had papaya. It was yummy and I ate loads. I quite like fruit but vegetables are horrible.

Mummy topped me up with some milk and it wasn't long before I wanted to go back to sleep.

Mummy was then very busy doing things around the house. She is still trying to sort out the spare room which just seems to be always filled with stuff.

I was asleep for a little while but I was soon up and having fun with Mummy.

Next stop was Jolly Babies. We had a brilliant time and we even sat and watched Debs, the teacher, blowing loads of bubbles up into the air. Iestyn is very close to crawling now and he just really wanted to get them.

We rushed home as I had to have my lunch. I really didn't want it though.

Charlotte and Faith come over for lunch too and Charlotte tried to distract me so that Mummy could get the spoon in my mouth, but it didn't work for long.

I had a lovely time playing with Faith and Charlotte. I had another nap after some more food and then Naomi and Iestyn came over too.

It was such a beautiful day outside that the Mummies decided it would be good to go out for a walk. So we did. I didn't walk of course, I was in my buggy.

We went around the park and then into Sainsburys for a cream tea. The Mummies had a really nice time, chatting and catching up.

On the walk home, I fell asleep again and everyone went there separate ways. We didn't get home until 5pm!

Mummy put me up to bed but I didn't stay asleep so was promptly brought back downstairs. I had some swinging time, mat time, chair time and cuddles. I am so spoilet.

When Daddy got home from work, he helped Mummy to do some hand and foot prints in paint. It didn't work that well but it is something for my record book that Mummy is keeping.

I was put straight in the bath afterwards to wash all the paint out from in between my toes.

Mummy was finally able to style my hair in a different position to straight up. I thought it looked really cool but by the time it had dried, it was pointing up again. I think Mummy was talking about using some sort of gel next time. Oh dear, whatever next!

Snip, Snip!

Yoga this morning, but not until after I had tried mango for the first time. It is yummy and I can't wait to have it again.

We arrived at yoga early for a change so had to sit in the car for a little bit before going into the house.

We were the first in but all the others turned up just after. Mummy took my hat off and this is the results.

Now, are you sure Mummy shouldn't cut my hair? Please vote in this months poll.

Yoga wasn't very relaxing and all the babies, except me of course, started to kick off at one point or another. I even had to do my yoga with other mummies. It was very strange but I didn't mind one bit.

We went home to pick up my lunch and then zoomed off up to Nanny and Granddad Rennolds' house. I had my lunch and cuddles with my Great Uncle Roger and of course Granddad Rennolds. Nanny was out shopping so we had to wait a bit for her to come home.

After Nanny had had her lunch we went for a really nice walk in the sunshine. I eventually fell asleep and missed the woods part of the walk but I still enjoyed it.

When I was woken up, I had some play time with the toys that Nanny has. They are really good.

We arrived back home at about 5:20pm so we didn't have to wait long for Daddy to get back. I had about 20 minutes of play time in my door swing and cuddles with Daddy before I was bathed and put to bed.

Mummy finally played her computer game that she received for Christmas. She really enjoyed it and hopes that she will soon have enough time to do it again.

Mental

Sorry everyone but here is another video of me having a wicked time in my door swing. I really love it!

On saturday I had breakfast for the first time. It was pear with baby rice but I didn't really fancy it that much.

In the afternoon I stayed home with Daddy and Mummy popped out to the shops. She bought me some new swimming trunks and some sheets for my bed. She came home and wouldn't stop talking about all the babies and pregnant women she saw. She was going on about how broody she was. I have no idea what that means but it didn't sound too good.

Sunday morning, for breakfast I had banana. It was delicious and I ate loads, Mummy was very pleased.

We visited Wayne and Nic in the morning. We had a lovely time. I had nice cuddles and watched Jasper, their dog, running around the room with Harvey, their nephew. Mummy fed me swede for the first time too. I liked it up until it went cold and then I wasn't interested any more.

We then went up to see Nanny and Granddad Rennolds, but they had gone out. Mummy put some music on and we danced around until Daddy was ready to go. It was really good fun and I ended up so tired.

I fell asleep in the car as soon as we left and I didn't wake until we got home.

I had a really good afternoon playing and chatting with Daddy. Mummy was busy doing things around the house.

It all starts again tomorrow. Yoga first thing tomorrow but I'm not sure what Mummy has planned for the afternoon. Time will tell.

Summary

Since getting back from Berlin we have pretty much just been trying to get back to normal. Mummy is still attempting to get on top of all the housework and washing, while making sure we still do all the things that we normally do. On top of that, I am now eating solids at lunchtime so that also has to be organised.

Due to all the work that Mummy is doing, she hasn't had too much spare time to type up the blog. I know she has been staying up late sorting out my food, ironing, line dancing etc so I am just going to do a summary of the week so far.

Tuesday - Jolly Babies. This week we went to the later class so that we could join Charlotte, Faith, Sharon, Sophie, Sally, Anna, Naomi and Iestyn. It felt very strange seeing our old class dancing away when we arrived, but it was nice to see all my friends.

In the afternoon we went to see the health visitor and she weighed and measured me. I am 19lb 3oz and 71cm long. That is big for my age.

When we got home, Mummy phoned Charlotte, and my buddy Faith came over to play.

In the evening Uncle Dave came over to take my picture and to also take a clay print of my hand and foot. It was really good fun but I was very tired by the time we had finished. So tired in fact that I barely ate anything and had to wake Mummy up early for some more food.

Wednesday morning I worked out a new trick. I can now pull my mat down over my face and play peek-a-boo all on my own.

We then went around to Sharon and Sophie's house for Mummies' Morning. Charlotte and Faith will no longer be coming to the Wednesday morning group as Charlotte has now returned to work. Boo.

I accidentally knocked the remote control off the sofa and it landed straight in Naomi's coffee. Sharon, if you read this, I am really sorry and I hope that the remote works okay.

We left quite early and went home for lunch. I had pear and baby rice and it went down really well. So well in fact, that Mummy tried to give me some Petit Filous after but I just kept wretching on that. Mummy laughed at me and then eventually gave up trying to make me sick.

Wednesday afternoon was spent with Auntie Lucy and Ashlee. We went for a lovely walk around the neighbourhood as the sun was out.

We quickly popped up to see Nanny and Granddad Rennolds as we had to drop off Granddad's Focus magazine. I had a nice time there but we were soon on our way home again.

At home, because I was 6 months old yesterday, we had a photo session. The results are as follows.

Wednesday night Mummy went to line dancing practice. She come home so happy that she could't go to sleep for ages. Unfortunately for her, once she did go to sleep, I woke her up again, twice.

Thursday morning I had some swinging time, which I love.

Nanny came over around lunchtime, just after I had polished off loads of squash, and I showed her how well I am sitting up now.

Mummy and Nanny were on the computer for a bit listening to music. Nanny looked funny with the headphones on.

We then went out shopping to ASDA. Mummy bought me some new bibs, some long sleeved vests, and a lunch box. Nanny bought me a new outfit and a big rubber bib thing.

We stopped off for a quick drink in the cafe and I was put in a highchair which was really good fun. Mummy gave me an organic rice cake and I had a good munch on that. I wasn't really sure what to do with the bits that came off in my mouth though, so I just spat them out.

We went our separate ways after that and at home, Mummy kept me occupied until Daddy got back from work.

I sat up to the table with Mummy and Daddy while they ate their dinner and I was even given a couple of bits of cheese. Again, I wasn't really sure what to do with it but I managed better this time.

I had my bath as normal and was fed and put to bed. Mummy then spent 2 and a half hours preparing some food for me. She did mango, potato, spinach, swede and carrots.

I got Mummy up 3 times in the night as I kept coughing and waking myself up. I think I had a bit of a stuffy nose too so that didn't help.

On Friday morning, Mummy and I hung around the house together just messing around.

Nanny Rennolds came over at lunchtime and fed me my apple. I didn't really fancy it that much today but Mummy didn't seem to mind. I did take some water from my cup, it isn't very nice though.

We then walked down to the local Italian restaurant and had lunch. Well, Mummy and Nanny had some as I had already had mine. It was really busy but good fun to watch everyone.

We walked back and I had a sleep. Next thing I know, I am in the car on my way to Twinkling Stars. This week, Nanny decided to join us. It was really nice to have her there and she managed to grab a few videos of us warming up.

We did the Kangaroo song which is my favourite and we played with the coloured scarves again.

Back at home, I went to bed after a feed and Mummy spent the time typing up all of what you have just read. Thanks Mummy.
I had a nice long nap and Mummy actually had to wake me up at around 5:30pm. She tried for a few minutes apparently but I just wouldn't wake up. I finally did, obviously and I played on my mat until Daddy came home from work.

It was all a mad rush in the evening as Mummy was going out to a line dance so she had to get ready while Daddy gave me my bath. I had a really good time playing in the bath with Daddy and I had a good feed before being put back into bed. I have a bit of a cold at the moment so I hope I don't wake Mummy up too much tonight.

We hope the amount of videos and pictures in this entry make up for the lack of any in the last one.

Back To It

Monday morning and we were back doing the usual things. First thing Monday morning is yoga. It took us 40 minutes to get there as the traffic was really bad.

Yoga was good but Mummy had a headache from the drive into town. She worked very hard though and I was a good boy right until the end.

I fell asleep at yoga and Mummy moved me into the car and then into the house and I stayed asleep. That doesn't usually happen and Mummy had to wake me up at 1:30 so that she could give me some carrot for the first time.

I actually did really well but I got a bit fed up of it after a while. I think tomorrow I am having sweet potato. There is a video but it was done on different camera. We will hopefully post it soon.

We then bundled into the car and went to visit Jaimie and Ria. It was nice to see them again as we haven't seen them in ages. Ria has really changed and gave us loads of smiles.

We popped in to see Nanny and Granddad Rennolds but Nanny had gone out to Morrisons. I had nice cuddles with Granddad though and Chloe gave me kisses and put pen on my face.

We came home and I had another nap before playing with Mummy in the evening.

Daddy was out so Mummy gave me my bath, feed and put me to bed. Mummy then stayed up really late trying to finish the blog. I think she managed it and went to bed at around midnight, which is when I woke up for the first time.

Sorry, there are no photos for today.

Baby Rice

Saturday morning was spent with Mummy doing lots of washing and sorting out all our stuff out of the suitcase. She did a really good job and it didn't take her too long.

At lunchtime I was put in my high chair and given some baby rice for the first time. It was a funny temperature and it was very runny. I had a good go though but I was just so hungry that I got a bit fed up eventually as it just wasn't arriving at my mouth quick enough.

Daddy finished me off with the rest of my bottle.

In the afternoon Daddy and I walked down to Sainsburys to grab a few things for dinner, well, I didn't walk obviously, I was in my buggy. We were gone for quite a long time and Mummy managed to do some of the blog.

It was really nice on Saturday night to be back in my routine. I loved being in my bath again. I still haven't got back on track with my sleeping, but hopefully by the end of this week I should be okay.

Sunday morning we all had a lie in. Daddy brought me into bed with him and Mummy and we all slept until about 10am, when Mummy got up and woke me up too.

It wasn't long before we were due to go to Nanny and Granddad George's house for a roast dinner.

We arrived nearly on time and had a nice time looking at the fish and playing with my stacking cups on a mat. We didn't get any pictures because the memory card for the camera was at home. Nanny took some though, so I shall get some copies and post them later.

I sat in my high chair and had baby rice again today. It was slightly thicker than yesterday and I wasn't so hungry, which made it easier for Mummy. Nanny even had a go at feeding me but she soon passed it back to Mummy.

Mummy and Daddy really enjoyed their roast dinner and Mummy scoffed all the vegetables.

We stayed there until about 4pm and then went home, via the shops as I needed yet another sleeping bag. The new sleeping bag has holes in it so that I can use it in the car - the holes are for the car seat straps to go through. Mummy has started to buy unisex things so that we can use them for my brother or sister. No, Mummy isn't pregnant just yet.

I had another lovely bath before going to bed at my usual time of 7pm.

Leaving Berlin

Our last day in Berlin started with us being rather lazy. We just relaxed in bed for a bit as I had, yet again, got Mummy up 4 times in the night. Sorry Mummy.

Mummy and Daddy packed up all of our things and we checked out of our hotel room.

Today, Mummy wanted to see another part of town, and we would need to get the underground train to get there. Try as we might, we couldn't find a station that was open.

We eventually walked to the main subway station only to find that we still couldn't get to the platforms. What was going on? We found out when a guy came shouting at us in German. He wasn't angry, he just spoke very loud. We soon told him that we couldn't understand him as we are English and a passer-by stopped to explain that the bus and train drivers were on strike! That meant that we were unable to get to our destination today. Mummy was not pleased.

We found somewhere to eat, eventually and I was put in a big boy's chair.

After that we didn't really know what to do. We had pretty much covered everything that was in walking distance so ended up sitting in Starbucks for a bit and then in Kamps.

The final decision was to go back to the hotel. We sat in the lobby for a while, and then Mummy got bored and said we needed to go for a walk. We went for a walk in a different direction than before and it turned out to be not so nice an area. We walked rather quickly back in the other direction.

Sitting in the hotel lobby again, Mummy and Daddy thought it was best to just wait at the airport so we arranged for a taxi to come and get us.

Because of the strike, the roads were chaos. It took ages to get to the airport and the driver was quite erratic.

We had to wait a little while before we could check in but we were soon on our way through to the security checking desks. This time, Mummy had to hand me over to a member of staff so that she could walk through the metal detector. Mummy had forgotten to take off her belt so had to be fully searched. Mummy also forgot that she had a bottle of water in her bag. This was confiscated, but not before she drank 90% of it.

In the departures lounge was a Burger King. Mummy and Daddy had been deprived of burgers as the Germans eat healthy food, so that was our first stop.

We waited and waited for hours and then our gate number came up on the screen. We had our passports checked, twice, and were then let through the barrier to a separate section of the room. It was very strange to see all the passengers segregated, but still able to see each other. We had priority boarding so we were in the special area.

Our plane was running late but they turned it around very quickly. We boarded first and Mummy picked our chair around the same area as before. The flight was going to take 1 hour 56 minutes on the way back because we had a head wind. Mummy wasn't too pleased about that but was happy that the captain said there wasn't any strong winds in Bristol.

I slept for the first hour and a half which was really good but it meant that Mummy's arm had gone numb.

The flight was good and we were soon waiting for our bags. They arrived quickly and as we entered the arrivals hall, Nanny and Granddad Rennolds were there to greet us. It was really nice to see a friendly face or 2 to take us home.

In the car everyone was chatting at a 100 miles an hour as they were all excited to see each other. Nanny and Granddad had bought me a new wooden toy which was wicked. I will get Mummy to take a picture of it for you.

At home, the house was freezing so the heating was put on and I was given a quick wash, changed, fed and put to bed. I wasn't happy about it to start with but I soon fell asleep.

Mummy and Daddy didn't stay up long. They had a cuppa with Nanny and Granddad and then went straight to bed.

Berlin Day Three

Our third day in Berlin and I'm still not sleeping all that great.

I woke at 11:45pm, 5am, 5:30am and then I was woken at 7am by the room phone going, and it was a wrong number. Mummy had had enough after that and I was allowed in bed with her and Daddy.

I had a feed at 8 and we were out of the hotel by 10am local time. First stop of course was breakfast at Kamps.

Second stop today was the Altes Museum. Unfortunately, yet again, it wasn't buggy friendly but we were helped up to the first floor by way of a secret lift. We were allowed through locked gates to a lift that actually got stuck at one point. It was really strange as it didn't have any doors on the inside so you could see the wall going up and down.

Mummy loves Egyptian artifacts and they had loads here. Even a limestone carving of the head of Nefertiti.

In the centre of the museum there was this huge hall. It was amazing and it was filled with statues.

Outside the museum is the Berlin Cathedral, which is an awe inspiring sight. We could just make out a couple of men working on the top of it.

In the distance you could see the highest structure in Berlin, a television tower.

It was really, really cold today because there was a strong breeze. Mummy decided to wrap me up even further. I thought it was getting quite ridiculous now.

For lunch we went back to the food court which was really nice but then Daddy was feeling too cold to do anything outside and Mummy was fed up with doing museums, so after a long time of talking about it, they decided to go back to the hotel.

We just had a nice time chilling out and for dinner Daddy went out and got pizza again.

While Daddy was out Mummy and I had lots of fun.

I was bathed in the sink again as Mummy had already showered and Daddy was out. It still didn't work very well and the bathroom was soaked by the time we had finished.

I went to sleep quite well and when Daddy got back he thought I looked so cute that he did a video.
